I wasn't want to say that You not know about ISO and other things. I just said this generally.
Peoples wants Gcam for easy for use point-and-shoot a good pictures.
But G4's strenght is to make ones of the bests pictures with its perfect camerasensor at manual mode.

I usually prefer manual modes on my cameras and my phones, but Gcam has done a good job and has helped improve our snapshots.
I think that's nothing is more valuable in a photo than a steady hand, but that's not always easy. Googles "magic" really helps when the hand is shaking, there's no tripod and low shutter speed is the only choice- generally I don't like high ISOs. Gcam is fast, easy and can give a good photo in most cases, maybe not the best, but better than the stock in auto mode.

Still looking for the best camera app for an UsU'd LG G4 H812 running /e/ (LineageOS 16), and the *only* one that works fine(-ish), other than the stock Open Camera, is this old L-G_cam.apk "GCAM for LG Snapdragon running Lollipop" by harysviewty. https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog340/

The image quality is better than Open Camera to my eyes, it has a simple UI with few settings to configure, and it's the only GCam where video works, although the frame rate is very slow... If I find nothing better, it will be my go-to point-and-shoot option.

I also tried Camera FV-5 which isn't working with the rear camera, and literally two dozen GCam packages:

Observations on the packages other than L-G_cam.apk:
Most work ok-ish for the camera, although they are not super stable, but they nearly all crash or freeze on night mode or portrait. All of them fail in video, with a message "Could not record video. Change to another mode, then try again." Some, including the MGCamera_5.1.0.18_R4X_v.5.1.7 mentioned https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-port-hub/ and in this thread, don't even launch at all and crashes immediately.

Especially disappointing is that harysviewty's G4Camera_2019.apk https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog326/ with the promise of 1080p at 60Hz fails to launch and crashes with a java error.

Is there anything better for the G4?

EDIT: So a big part of the framerate and camera failure troubles is the video lag issue with UsU'd phones. After applying the video lag fix, framerates are smoother, including 1080p 60FPS recording, and most of the GCams work now. Many still crash in some modes, notably Time Lapse or Night Sight, but it's much better than before. I have not found any perfect (newer) GCam port for the G4 yet. Currently running GCam_RN8P_Wyroczen_7.3.020)2.0.

Brief notes on some quick testing of the above GCams after the video lag fix:

zooming in video often freezes recording and/or causes error
