Still not working

Well, first of all thank you. For me it's the closed thing to a working hdr+ camera I've come across, but after about 2/3 of calculating an HDR+ photo the process is stuck and I have to force close the app. What settings do you use (I must have tried most of them...)? Any other ideas? Again, thank you.

I can confirm it finishes processing on LOS14.1. On Freedom ROM (7.0) it got stuck at about 66%. I haven't done any comparisons yet, but it does something.

Guys sorry, I didn't mention it but I though you already knew it: Google Camera is made for AOSP-based ROMs, so it will NOT work on LG ROMs unfortunately :(

You can only use the Google Camera with my settings on AOSP-based such as AOSCP, LOS 14.1 etc.

Actually you can install G Camera on LG stock, but few modded ones doesn't work for some odd reason. Google allows you to install G camera on any phone

Sent from my LGE V30 using XDA Labs

Too bad, but thanks for clearing that up.

Could anyone please post some comparison between LG's stock camera and google's camera with hdr+. Is it worth it?

If you are on stock ROM don't worry, LG camera is amazing (my favorite OEM camera for sure) ;)

Google Camera is the best solution for those running AOSP-based ROMs

I did some photos today with this camera. I used GCam5.1.014-Arnova8G2-v8.1.apk. Settings Pixel (corr); Nexus 6 (max paramaters = High); Default.
I compared HDR+ on/off and HDR+DNG. There is some significant overprocessing especially on blacks, but processing DNG from HDR+ works well. Small comparison gallery with comments - https://imgur.com/a/gPAAy .

I wonder if other versions have such aggressive processing. I will do comparisons between HDR+/HDR+DNG/DNG some other day.

I have done some more testing with GCam5.1.014-Arnova8G2-v9.1 and MGC_5.1.014_7.0H_C2API_v.1.3_AllinOne (Settings Pixel (corr); Nexus 6 (max paramaters = High); Default.). I was mainly focusing on maximum image quality and not default processing.
* Auto post processing on ported APKs is bad in tested conditions (forests). Especially blacks are often crushed. White balanced is a hit or miss. Overall sometimes it looks almost natural, sometimes as an artistic interpretation.
* DNG from ported APKs retain all detail of HDR+
* DNG from ported APKs are better than normal DNGs (used Camera FV-5). Main difference is noise, which is more under control. Dynamic range is better, but it's hard to test. Noise from Dark Current is reduced.
* GCam5.1.014-Arnova8G2-v9.1 seems more stable for taking DNGs
