@miniuser123 Portrait mode on front is not working for me, it's not takin pics.
I am on s7 exynos. Can anyone share settings for s7 exynos?
Selected Nexus 6, and everything default. When tried portrait mode on front camera it clicks shutter but doesn't make any sound and doesn't take picture, and same time if I try to go back, app fc. For normal front camera it clicks pics.

Latest version broke portrait mode on both cameras for my S7 Exynos with IMX260 on front and N8 ROM. Previous version had working Portrait mode.

Working extremely well on my S8 Exynos with Oreo. So glad to have it working so thank you very much @miniuser123 for an excellent job. HDR+ works fine for me but might play around with some settings to get the best quality I can.

I'd say this is now good enough to be my daily use camera app.

Latest app is working fine on S7 edge exynos, stock nougat. Portrait mode on both cameras. :)
Just out of curiosity, could you install AIDA64 from play store and check under the devices section which camera module you have on the back? Samsung is building the S7 and S8 with Sony's IMX and Isocell sensors which adds another mix to the Exynos/Snapdragon difference.

May I know which settings you used? As I tried portrait mode using front cam, It takes pictures but doesn't save any on the gallery.
Model: Pixel XL Marlin+Taimen
Config camera HDR+: Nexus 6 hdr+ Auto
Fix black level front camera: 0.00
Portrait Mode on all models: enabled
Camera.faceboxes: enabled
Camera.af.debug.show: disabled

After you apply the settings, go back and close the camera, and also swipe to close it from the recent apps (so as to close completely). Then open it again.
