Well, using the ultrawide is come kind of zooming. The app definitely uses the second camera then. Just put something in front of the lenses and you'll see.
Nope ultrawide is not supported in Gcam yet maybe OnePlus block some capabilities of camera api or libs I don't know so we can't enable other sensors except front and back so don't be confused now

That's nice for you. But still, both cameras are used. As I said, test it and you'll see
Do you have a Nord 2 ?

I installed the app and the 0.4x button is not present (only 1x and 2x and both only use the main sensor, wideangle sensor is never used in both case)

Yes, I have a Nord 2. I'm not on stock anymore but use the GSI from phhusson from here:

Ah ok, now I understand better why you have different results than all of us.

I can confirm too that on stock rom the wideangle sensor is not exposed to the system and APIs (this is why adi.sharma and I can't use wideangle on Gcam apps) maybe it's deliberate decision from oneplus or maybe a bug in the current oxygen os version . It's very annoying because also in other apps (instagram, whatsapp, snapchat, etc...) the wideangle sensor is not available.

@Pokkos & To anyone with rooted Nord 2, does your camera2 API allow your apps to shoot in full 50MP RAW?

On Stock the only time anyone can get 50MP is from the stock camera app's Extra HD mode.

In a way, using the ultrawide can be considered zooming. There is definitely a second camera used by the app. Putting something in front of the lenses will reveal the results.

All credits goes to Working GCam.

I just tested it with my Nord 2 and it worked like charm.

Edit: Wichaya one is more stable with working Night Sight, portrait and video.

Update: BSG one is pretty stable. Use below link to download.

    Thanks so much all.

Hi, this phone is pretty interesting but in some reviews all the photos looks like aquarel...
Can you post a pair of photos taken with the original app and the gcam in order to compare ?
    Thanks in advance
Like the review of gsmarena, you have better results without HDR mode, also 50 mp mode is useless it justs increase the size of the photo but not its quality and details.
Gcam has a good hdr, also it doesn't apply some sharp effect on night photos. I think they will improve the stock camera in the future like they did for their other phones
These photos are with Gcam astrophotography mode, and it was 3 am, in the dark, the "dawn" effect is caused by the cities around but it was barely noticeable with human eye

Before complaining, did you even test it?
https://t.me/OnePlusNord2GlobalOfficial. It's my telegram group of Nord 2 you don't know what are talking about I concerned that with Gcam dev now you understand how much I know about it
