Problem I have with all versions is that the white Ballance is totally of when taking pictures in warm light indoors evening scenes.
Every warm orange yellow light is shown as a white cold daylight

I have mostly the same issues with other gcams but Gcam7.3.018_Greatness.Build2.3.apk with default config works fine for me, and it also works with the other lenses. Android 11 has made the Nikita gcam unstable for me but the greatness one still works well. I mostly use the default config but with the AWB back set to IMX686 and AWB front set to S5K3T2 because those are the actual sensors of our phone. For some reason the poco f2 config file available for that gcam is worse with white balance than the default one in my case, but your mileage might vary.

If you're too lazy, I've also attached my config here lol. It might also be useful to look into the exposure compensation settings if your photos still come out too bright.

Alternatively, u can use the mod listed here for front camera. No noise issues here. I personally use this cuz it has working beauty mode.

Please if some dev can integrate this front camera implementation with other mod plz do so.
I would have to share the gcam to front again because the link is out

Hey guys, I've made a config for NGCam 7.4.104-v2.0 which has really worked well for me, better than the urnyx one at least.

I've tested this on CrDroid 7.1 (android 11) with 12.2.1.0 firmware. I've left google awb off for this config, as it makes photos look a bit unnatural in some situations but leaving it on for the main camera might be better for low light situations. Your results may of course vary but feel free to give it a shot. Merry Christmas!

Ah I didn't notice at first but you seem to be right that EIS doesn't work as of now :/ by enabling advanced -> stream config and then Video EIS you get EIS in the viewfinder but it doesn't work for the video itself sadly. That's a pity because the nikita gcam does have the best photo quality for me and I haven't been able to achieve that quality with another gcam

EDIT: I'm pretty sure EIS is fixed when you enable steamconfig in advanced and set 'Video' to EISV2. This is the config I have so far. On paper everything works and the photo quality is amazing. However I have noticed that the aux cameras might crash under some circumstances, especially when there is a lot of light. If anyone finds a fix for that please let me know.

I don't really care about that because I use the main cam 99% of time camera anyway and the urnyx gcam can't match the nikita gcam when it comes to that. For some reason photos with urnyx gcam are much blurrier than the ones taken with nikita, from what I've seen.

I changed the config file with your config and now works like a charm. Thank you so much!

This will sound like a noob question lol, but how do you load a xml configuration file on urnyx gcam?
Go to setting -> configutation (xml) -> save confing -> give it a funny name ;
Then close Gcam ;
Then go to /sdcard/gcam.../config.../ and drop your new xml ; (you can delete the older one)
Then start gcam and double tap on a blank zone of the botton bar, select the new xml, and hit retore.
done

Btw, check out the latest tigr xmas release if you liked the nikita gcam. The tigr one is a bit more polished and is based on nikita's gcam so it is on par with it in photo quality (the best of all the gcams I've personally tested imo). EIS is working as well with EISV2 in stream config, and EIS should also be working in 4k, sadly I can't test that because both tigr's and nikita's gcam crash as soon as I switch to 4k quality video.

Can anyone using a non-miui based rom perhaps test if 4k works for them on the latest tigr? Because idk if that's just my rom (crdroid 7) or some other factor. 4k works for me using the urnyx gcam but that one has wayy worse photo quality and I'd rather have everything in 1 app.

Hi,
Thank you for your advices. I tried ngcam and trcam. They seem good for photos.
With ngcam, I can take videos with HD resolution but 4k crash.
With Trcam, i can't take video because the app crash as soon as i click on the video button.
I use thé last AEX Rom.

I can confirm 4K 60fps video recording works with trcam xmas on stock miui

Edit: Eis doesn't seem to work in 4k though (works in full HD)

If you used my config with trcam, it might be because I accidentally switched to 4k before saving the config file, whoops. This attached config should default to 1080p and that should work on custom roms.

The fact that you also can't record in 4k probably means we can't record in 4k on custom roms for whatever reason, but we can just use a seperate gcam for that I guess.

Indeed with your New XML, I can take vidéo 👍, thank you.
We have to wait better support for poco f2 🙁

It's not ideal but we can still install a seperate gcam for 4k, I have installed the latest arnova alongside the tigr gcam, because the latest arnova gcam does work with 4k. The downside is that that arnova build does not have eis working in 4k..

The urnyx 7.3 has everything working but it just has bad photo quality sadly, I hope that gets resolved in the future.

I don't record a lot of videos mostly take pictures, I take it in this case I should stick with tigr cam and install the k30.xml config? (For the best picture quality possible)

Could this be used alongside urnyx gcam - which is already installed?

I'm on msm-xtended custom rom

Yep you can install the tigr / nikita cam alongside the urnyx gcam because they use different package names. You can install as many different gcams as you want, they just need to have different package names.
