May I suggest the first post in thread be edited with such information? The thread IS HUGE and it is unrealistic to expect newcomers to trudge through all of it.

Okay guys, for once and for all, please SEARCH the thread before posting in this thread!

Summary of current scenario:
  • Unrooted Users: There is no Google Camera mod that works fine on the latest OxygenOS releases, if you're not rooted. If you wish to use the Google Camera mod, then either root and see the point below or downgrade to OxygenOS 4.5.15 (Last stable Nougat) or OxygenOS Open Beta 2 (Last Oreo beta on which the modded Google Camera app works fine without root).
  • Rooted Users: You can use the Google Camera mod with the latest OxygenOS releases, namely OxygenOS 5.0.1 (Latest stable Oreo) or OxygenOS Open Beta 4 (Latest Oreo beta) AFTER flashing the workaround mod from this thread.
Known bugs for OnePlus users using this mod:
  • HDR/RAW/Portrait Mode don't work with the front camera
  • Slow-motion recording doesn't work (only on Android Oreo, custom and stock ROM, both)
  • ZSL, when HDR+ is on/forced
Other relevant links:
  • Complete list of all Google Camera ports (with suggested settings and recommended/stable versions -- updated frequently): Link
  • Troubleshooting errors: Link
  • How to capture a log, if you're facing a crash when opening/using the Google Camera mod: Link
  • XDA thread for Google Camera mod for OnePlus devices: Link

Did you intend to skip the two other serious known issues?
  • The dots pattern in HDR+ images.
  • Touch to focus is often not working.
Unfortunately we need OnePlus' help to get rid of these, and we see no progress.

TL;DR.
Google camera is never being perfect in OP5, do not bother if you expect that.

That is a good suggestion (even though many people still don't read the OP :p). Nonetheless, tagging the thread owner @Rohit jat and requesting him to link to this post in the OP. :)

I'll definitely try and do that -- that's the aim! :good:

You know these issues have been around for so long, I totally forgot about them, thinking everyone knows about these. :p But you're right, I should've added them since I was trying to make the list comprehensive and for new people to read who visit the thread. I've edited my original post and done that now, thanks for the heads up. :)

Yes, Arnnova's 1.4 works for me very well. ZSL profile works properly with the normal HDR on
Normal HDR+ --> HDR+ auto (in the old layout)/HDR+ on (in the new layout). I assume that's the case, yeah? Can you check if you have ZSL working with HDR+ on (if you have the old layout)/HDR+ enhanced (if you have the new layout)?

Also, everyone, I've updated my original post here to include more information and make it slightly better to look at. :p Hope it proves to be as useful as I want it to be!

HDR+ Enhanced takes a while to take a photo, ZSL doesn't work with it then.
BTW great that OnePlus corrected the dots issue! Maybe some day some hero will repair this green tint problem :).

Arnova 1.4
Config camera HDR+: Nexus 6 auto
Model: Pixel 2XL
HDR+ parameters: Super high

I also installed some HDR fix from a zip file on TWRP. Search my posts for the link to it.

With these configurations, photos are almost always better, sometimes the difference is not noticiable right away, but at the very least the quality is on par with the default camera. Having said that, there are some photos in low light, that are quite better than default. Which was/is the main cons of this phone versus, say... Samsung S8. Pitty that on videos this app in unstable. We could use some stabilization on 60fps, which the default camera does not have.

EDIT: No dots or weird colors here. I don't use the last versions, because they have problems with video, even more than this version.
