Can we set the Google ported camera app as the default camera on the phone? ie double press the power button to bring up the camera on lockscreen ( which is secured ) or by an edge sense gesture?

Default app? Not sure

Double press? Not sure, but you can add it to the dock and it will be on lockscreen

Edge sense? Yes, but it's beta

Just a quick update.

It is possible to set the google camera as the default camera ( lockscreen or otherwise ). So you can double press the power button twice to bring up the google camera.

Also there is a V4 out which works perfectly on the U11+

Great, how did you set it to default?

I'll check out V4, but the changes didn't seem too big

Does anyone else get flat/ dull skin tones with this camera? The HTC default camera gives much more vivid and realistic skin tones for me, especially in indoor lighting

You need to clear the defaults in the HTC camera app. You can access it via settings -> apps. Then double press the power button and it will ask you which camera should open by default. Do this once when the phone is unlocked and again when the phone is locked

Is there actually any major differences between between Stock and Gcam app?
I've done some tests and can't see that much difference except the file sizes on Gcam are larger due to the HDR+ and are slightly sharper.

I find that the GCam and Google Camera Port both offer better details, whereas the stock camera blows out the highlights

Also, better 'shutter speed', resulting in less blurry shots where this is even a little bit of motion

However, the colours in low light are a bit off, even with the colour correction setting applied within GCam and Google Camera settings

One thing that's bothering me is the odd skin tones with these mods. I am getting a weird yellow tinge, and also flat looking colour. Not so with the stock camera, it looks way more natural

I have install this version - GoogleCamera_5.2.019.188906351-v1, issue encountered is as follow:
1. Slow motion force

Other than the above mentioned problem the app work pretty much as expected.

Arnova's v7beta9 is the best version I've tried so far. The skin tone issue is a lot less pronounced.

There's some settings for exposure in HDR+ mode, I find that GExposure*8 works best, but only done some limited testing

I've recently tried MGC, skullshady, and tolyan versions, this latest v7beta9 is good. Everything works except slow motion video

so far, GCam_5.1.018_by_SerJo87_1.6RC2_test2 is the only version i can activate slow motion 120fps.
MGC_5.2.019_MI6_test.apk has slightly faster hdr processing and better color rendering(BSG said), but slow motion FC still.

Camera not Open More

Dears,

After I install port apk my camera app not start anymore, do you now how fix this?
I restore factory settings but problem persist.

I try flash the stock oem zip, and Flash sucessfull but camera app not open more.
