Restart phone or app? And thanks. I've tried the newest version and sometimes the images are better but in certain situations the essential camera was better when comparing so I thought maybe u were on to something and I'd try it
Front camera pics are way better than stock camera,selfie camera not so much from my testings.
Me too. Not surprised because I think this camera port was made for the stock firmware of the PH-1. Simply because there were no other ROMs. Hopefully we can get this app running on LOS. Love this camera port!
This is because in v1.4+ (from this thread/Kisakuku) those settings are unnecessary. Stick with their posts.
This is an old version. Note the version number following Google Camera. It is based on an old version of the camera, all the extra hardware settings and stuff have become unnecessary as far as I can tell. Just because that says v4.0 AiO doesn't mean it's the most recent, because Google Camera is beyond 4.4.020 now.
This thread is a over a month old and certainly about an outdated version of this port. In the previous quote, it says v4.0 AiO, but you just said v1.4 here, even though it's not. I can see how this would be confusing to others.
So which version should I be using with essential phone? I thought using the older version worked best so that's why I asked the questions so I could get the best results.
unfortunately, this version crashes on lineage os whereas that older version still works on lineage os.
Okay, I'm not sure when I was ever replying to anyone about different versions working on Lineage. Like trelll never even brought up Lineage AFAIK.
But cool anyway and/or that sucks, doesn't matter to me either way because stock is working just fine for me.

For some reason this version doesn't have any settings to modify it and also.womt.take pictures. Looks like stock camera app settings. Is it possible the wrong file was uploaded? I cleared the app data as well and still doesn't work
Well i installed the New port based on Google Camera 5.1.016 from post #175 - on my essential phone non rooted. Camera opens and what not but will not take pix when I hit the cam button for back cam doesnt do anything, i switch to front came it works and takes pix, and the video record with no issues thou.. "tried restarting it"
