Google play still acting weird. Can't update maps to 6.5.0. Showing as unavailable in my country still. Tried using market unlocker but google play was giving me an error. Was forced to just download an apk from somewhere.

6.5 works !!!
Live in Greece, Have a Galaxy note, each time installed non-root version (5.3, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 6.5), in parallel with stock version.
Up to now, under all previous versions, Navigation in Google Maps FC randomly, after 10-20 minutes. Under version 6.5, everything works just fine and no more FCs.

All three links take me to "Invalid Attachment specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator"
Pl share correct link/post as I need Offline Maps for Mumbai & Delhi
Also will these maps work on Atrix (Android GB 2.3.5)

Will installing the 6.5 version for Type 3 ovrwrite the old version or add a 3rd maps/navigation icon ?

.. done .. i installed the new 6.5 and it upgraded my earlier ownhere GMaps .. so all is good . Thanks again Dr.this is really great...i suppose to travel in south Mumbai crowded area so was using it and guess what it landed me at perfect place surrounded by lots of one way.
One difference i have observed compare to google map website is when you check direction on website it gives you multiple route so you can select best one however on app it gives just one and few time it was not accurate so have to do navigation in two part. I hope google will introduce this feature soon in app version too.
It is there.
In navigation screen - press menu, you will find option 'Route N alternates' select it
Now you will have three soft button at bottom, select middle for alternate route.
Another thing, Navigation having capabilities of 're route' even you go different direction, it will change to best available route.

If you update then again you will lose navigation, many time there is regional update, otherwise Linked Map is 6.5 only,though you can check in setting.
Seems like a regional update here in egypt or middle east cause the installed one with navigation is 6.5 indeed

6.5.0 type 3 works well without FC for me, just like 6.2.0.
