That's bull****. Tradingshenzhen can't change anything on the phone (Rom, Firmware or whatever) because the bootloader is locked! The phone is completely stock.
That's true. I'm just summarizing what I read in this post and was asking a question..and you are completely correct. So it could happen with phones from other sellers as well I guess.

Phones bought at trading Shenzhen surely aren't stock. They pre install google services and change some options. Whatever else they do or don't do isn't known.

So far this bug of phones not updating only was reported for phones sold by TS (not updating phones aren't reported on Chinese forums). Sounds a bit unlikely only TS received a bad batch, but more likely TS broke something doing their setup. However I wouldn't worry too much that they still do this because it cost them money and reputation if they send out phones like this so they surely are more careful now.

I will never buy a China OS phone again, but it I were to I surely would first thing do a hard reset after receiving it and start installing from hopefully scratch

You're really that dumb? I'm talking about modified rom or custom firmware like many other shops do! installing Google service won't break anything like wallet, update possibility or safety net. The settings were also never touched!

Reset your phone and you'll have what? A non stock phone!?

Well resetting those phones didn't make them update. So imho it's TS that destroyed them with their script. And maybe they know how to manipulate the firmware so that when flashing it passes as update without unlocking the bootloader.
Because at least the staff from TS sitting in Europe seems unable to unlock those broken phones to fix them.

Ouch... You don't have a clue how those scripts work and what reset means.

Of course I don't know what TS does. Neither do you. If you show me any source of X90PP not updating that are sold in a sealed package - and not opened and modified like TS (and also Wondamobile?) - then you have proof that Vivo in their production shipped out defective units - otherwise it's most likely that TS did something that triggered / breaks something on those phones to not update anymore.
Some people claimed Vivo also uses an e-fuse like Samsung - though I don't trust that much without some better proof. Maybe something they do triggers it? Hard reset didn't make those phones update - and TS Europe office clearly couldn't fix them either otherwise they would not have offered taking them back.

You should search a lil bit more about locked bootloader and modifying a device via adb scripts or how factory reset works. It's not possible to break a device like that.

Just the idea to say TS break the devices while adding Google services or using some scripts is dumb and crazy. I'm out of this nonsense discussion.

Because you cannot break it with adb scripts. That's exactly why. So if they break it, and they also cannot unlock it (what I assume) - they must be able to load a prepatched firmware onto those devices - which is entirely possible if they have a way to sign it with a key that the bootloader accepts. With all the locks that Vivo has - a simple adb script simply cannot do anything that couldn't be reverted by hard reset.

Now if you find other devices in a closed box that have the same problem, then clearly vivo delivered them broken. But they have not appeared. Only devices sold with open boxes from retailers like TS that tinker with them before delivery so far have been reported to not update. Nothing about it on the Chinese websites. and with 99% of all X90PP staying in China that maks it even more unlikely that if Vivo had a bad batch, that batch would have ended up exclusively at TS... Show me a post where untampered X90PP have this problem and I will entirely say that TS didn't botch the device with tampred firmware. And I never ever claimed they can unlock it (though vivo must have codes/software to allow it - and they could have leaked but I don't assume so)

Thank you so much to bring clarity and the easiest solution to solve my case as well!!!!
Only the play services were outdated on my x90 PP and I downloaded the one from the second link above and solved my wallet installation issue just after a reboot!

P.S. yes, from Trading Shenzhen...
The only problems I have encountered: Chrome and Wallet cannot be installed.

Thank you again!!

@DonskyXDA you may also need to reinstall Chrome and Wallet (not just clear data)
Yeap,
Chrome issue depended on the Google Play version, I installed the one from V-apps from the link suggested a couple of pages ago here....
And Wallet works perfectly now thanks to your suggestion :)
Basically the mess is caused by not compatible versions of the 3 major google apps

OT: I am just disappointed that the x90 PP does not onboard the 2 parallel launchers like my x60PP :D

@moviehunter2009 mine is from Trading Shenzhen and I would buy from them again. I don't believe the issue had anything to do with them.

If you're a normal user (who doesn't mess with system packages, root, etc) and you buy from a reputable seller, you probably need not worry imo.

It does work, however google play itself will not update itself, so then google wallet stops working and you need to get google play from a third party website to update it. For wallet to work play services and play store need to be on same update level.

There's plenty of small google problems usually not mentioned, and then no one can guarantee that google doesn't require wallet to be a system app in future..
Google likely will go harder on this as many governments require them to make apps optional from Android and they could avoid it by just making them working as a system app forcing manufacturers to include them. It's a strategy google has clearly added to lately due to court decisions in various countries.

So right now it works, but with any google service on Chinese phones future versions full working gets less likely.
You can see on older vivo phones it often stopped working for some days to weeks too. Cannot count on it working though so far it mainly did.

@nightm that message pops up when one or several packages are out of date. Install the latest APKs from APKMirror, reboot and try again.

I have Google Wallet (Google Pay) working fine for me once I enabled Google services.

Haven't had an issue with it (I'm in Australia).

New Zealand, Google everything works fine!
If it helps to someone there is a link for original Google Play from V-Appstore: https://h5coml.vivo.com.cn/h5coml/a.../index.html?appId=48143&resource=301&source=5
