Had a long hands-on time with the XL today. Comparing with my note 8, first things first, yes the display isn't that great. But it isn't 25% as bad as it's being made online. Only blue shift I could see and that again was stupid. No grain, no smear. Wonderful display that I loved using.

Speakers blew the note 8 away. As did portrait mode. Performance, scrolling etc was out of the world.

Tl;Dr I'm keeping my pre order.

I cancelled my pre order from USA. As it's not covered under warranty in India. And all this screen fiasco going on I thought to wait and buy it from India only.

Good to know. When you compare it to the OG XL, how does the screen fair? On par or below par?

I couldn't compare with the original Pixel since I don't have one anymore. Can compare to Nexus 6p or Note8/S8+.
Although I'm sure after the upcoming vivid colours update, the Pixel 2 would surpass the Pixel 1 on every level other than viewing angles.

I see. How bad is the viewing angle anyway? Is a very slight tilt enough to get the blue hue or does it require a sharp angle. The consensus is split between the both.

I have a mole on the left side of my left eyebrow. When I'm looking for it in the mirror I can see it just when a tilt my face slightly. All my life Ive noticed it like 3 times.
That's the blue tint. Use your phone like a normal person all year and you won't notice it at all. Even when its Blue tinted at an angle. Normal use our eyes just don't notice things like that.

Althought to answer your question, yes it's there at a slight angle.

Don't have a HDFC credit card. Will wait till it is launched to see if there are some card offers.
Will miss out on the earphones, but I have enough of those... the sennheisers do look nice.

Hate to be that guy... But their might be a issue arising for the front firing speakers... It seems that a few for now people have e erratic behaviour with the same..

I've been using the demo for 2 days now, and I haven't noticed any issue on this unit. Quite frankly first time a pair of speakers have blown me away. Pleasant balanced sound, very loud, no crackling etc.
Granted I'm more of a screen than audio guy.

Played with Pixel Xl 2 at chroma store today for about 15 mins. That screen felt so dull. White were also very dull. My OnePlus 2 display felt more vivid and pure more white. My heart broke... I really wanted to buy that phone. But I guess I will have to wait. Stupid Google, can't check before releasing their flagship phone. Will just wait and watch if colours improve with the update as Google says.

Finally pre-ordered the 2 xl today. Blue shift doesn't bother me as much as i mostly hold my phone infront of me and not at an angle. Can't wait for 16th Nov. The main reason is the faster updates and vanilla android experience which no other OEM can provide.

Well visited Croma today... And they only had black version on display... But this thing is beautiful... Had my Nexus 6p with me and it's almost the same size with a bigger screen and less bezels...
The Colors looked the same to me.. I prefer the sRGB mode on my Nexus so it didn't look washed out or dull...

Though I might still cancel my preorder if HTC pulls a good one ... Nov 2nd has HTC U11 plus incoming... If it's awesome... I'll be in deeper sheet...

Only reason i am holding out is because of the reports of burn in issues. Has anyone checked in demo units?
