Hello Mike and all y'all.
Been searching all over, haven't found a direct answer yet. Has Verizon 6 pro been bootloader unlocked. Yes or no will make up my mind on a purchase. TIA

Overall great phone marred by poor ergonomics. This device is almost unusable without a case which is frustrating to see. I dont use cases at all, I enjoy the phone as it is and this is my first time I have put a case on a phone because it cannot be handled without it. It is slippery as fish. I will not upgrade to another Google phone (despite its amazing camera to which I am kind of addicted) until and unless they release a compact phone which is not slippery.

Unfortunately, most of todays flagships are slippery, using glass, polished metal or ceramic on the back is definitely the worst idea ever. All my last phones were flagship from OnePlus, Sony, Xiaomi, Oppo and now Google, they all were too slippery so I had to buy a plastic case not to make it fall off.

The last flagship phone I had without slippery back was the Samsung Galaxy S5 with a plastic back (and a removable battery 🥰).

Hi there! Happy weekend everyone!

Does anyone know where I can find a definitive list of all of the preinstalled applications for the Verizon Pixel 6 Pro?

Thank you all so much!

There are basically no "preinstalled" apps for the Pixel.

I believe that when putting a SIM from Verizon into **any** Pixel, it may download the "My Verizon" and "My Verizon Services" app, and possibly "Messages+ from Verizon" and "Verizon Cloud".

That is all. Nothing else. And all are uninstallable.

Bloatware is less of a thing on most flagship phones now.

Question. I recently got a pixel 6 pro from Verizon retail store. The OEM Unlock in dev settings is greyed out. I have a 36 month contract (Device payment). When I get the device paid off will I be able to have the "unlock bootloader" feature that's in dev options "non" greyed out?

Welcome to XDA.

No. If you use the Search field on this section for "Verizon", you'll find several other users who have asked similar questions. There are actually several pages of search results in this section with "Verizon" in the title, but at least a handful are about bootloader unlock (or in some cases, some users mistake "carrier" unlock for bootloader unlock).

With Verizon phones, there is never any way to unlock the bootloader except for the very rare winning-the-lottery unpredictable event such as when the Verizon Pixel 1 was still on Android 7.10, the OEM unlocking was not grayed out. I and other users were able to enable that and unlock our bootloaders before the phone was updated to Android 7.11. There have been other very rare small chances that users got to unlock their Verizon Pixels - there were a few people who were able to do so again with the Pixel 1 just two years ago, but the possibility only worked for a week or two at the most.

In short, if you ever want to unlock a phone's bootloader, don't buy a Verizon variant. The easiest is the factory (carrier) unlocked Google Pixel direct from Google or any retailer that sells them. AT&T and T-Mobile, I'm pretty sure both after you've paid them off you can get them carrier unlocked, and in this case that allows them to be bootloader unlocked if you wish. With Verizon, they're either carrier unlocked from the beginning or will be at a later time, but OEM unlocking will remain grayed out forever, and there's no way around that.

"Could" it happen? Technically, yes, if someone makes some mistake somewhere that leads to OEM unlocking being available. Could be years from now, could be months, or could be never.

Hi. I can't compare them since my last Samsung was a Note 10+ and I'm never going back to Samsung (except for tablets). I wouldn't imagine there's that much difference between the two on the camera front, although it's possible that Google's camera AI is better. Hopefully, someone else will be able to give you a direct comparison.
