Nexus Experience rom is very similar to pixel. http://www.nxrom.us/mi5splus.html I can't tell a difference from it vs the pixel rom on my 5x other than some LOS features included.

Google photo thinks it's a pixel (unlimited storage)

Flashing the google camera - https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-hdr-ported takes care of the camera part, although I use a separate app for video recording since its video recording is buggy and FCs
Is this ROM available for Mi5s? It looks great, if this have the PA color engine like the changelog says, and everything works fine, it's a must have this ROM

I installed it yesterday, all functions working fine, but for me phone sometimes freezes, for example : keys are illuminated but screen is black, I want to end call and pushing call end button and nothing happens, and few random phone reboots already happened for me.
Thanks for the reply. So you mean this rom isn't stable enough to use as a daily driver? Or maybe it needs the latest FW?

I had issues till I flashed firmware. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298977479 Did a full wipe before installing rom first time. Works perfect for me.

try flashing firmware
I already tried re-flashing firmware and ROM twice with all wipes needed, but I have the same bug : When the call ends (incoming or outgoing), the phone restarts. I saw that also other users already noticed this bug in NX Rom Google+ community, they said that for some helps that you turn off lift-to-check phone and ambient display functions for me it didn't help. Another solutions is to change kernel to custom one (Darkness), they gave me link to that kernel, but I didn't tried it yet. For most it helps , but they said that battery life isn't so good as with stock kernel.

I had reboot issue too. Randomly (but after ending the call more). I now had flashed latest firmware and guyver kernel (new one with EAS). The battery drain overnight was as comparable as stock kernel.
Apart from restart and once in while freeze, the ROM is pretty good. Now lets see with custom kernel, how it behaves. I will report back after day/or two day use.

I'll wait for your feedback. :) Did you flash the MM bootloader first before flashing the Guyver Kernel? I'm using this rom too for 2 days now. And didn't encounter bugs yet.

Yes, I had flash mm bootloader. You can flash it anytime, after you encounter not booting and stuck on mi logo (I did this way). Please note the guyver kernel is new with EAS commit and posted on telegram.

I've found an interesting post for everyone. There's an AOSP Rom with Android Oreo and they said that mostly everything is working with no major bugs. At the moment was only tested on a Mi3 and Mi4 (At least that's what i saw in this post) even there's a video. Maybe, some developer can take this and make it work in a Mi5s. I imagine that already there's someone that is doing it, but I leave this just in case.

He/she work with Mi 3 (cancro) because he/she have this device. Developer can't make ROM without device (RR devs tried to do it before, we had troubles with Wi-Fi and battery :) ).
