Google Search Background Data Consumption?

Anyone see this issue? Google Search should include Google Now right? Why is it using this much background data?

I get that updating my sports scores, traffic info and weather is being done in the background, but what the hell is taking up 200mb+ of data?

I cleared data today and will observe what happens the next few days.

200mb of data? Are you guys seeing that much background data use? I mean that's a bit ridiculous don't you think?

How is that ridiculous? That's 13mb background data per day judging by your screenshot.
