OP - What, if anything, have you figured out about the flashing screen? I get the same thing occasionally when turning the screen off or when uncovering the proximity sensor. It's not all the time and I haven't identified a pattern yet.
Sorry for the late response, but this does seem to be a hardware issue. In my experience, it happened when I used the screen for an extended pperiod of time (3 hours or more) Please check if that's the case with your device so you can get it replaced asap if needed.

I think an Apple iPhone may be a more suitable phone for you. You already have the "Apple Customer" attitude where you expect the company to bend over backwards for you for really no reason.

Now they're refusing to RMA blue tint/shift over the phone. If you were previously waiting this **** out, might as well move along, nothing to see here!

They aren't replacing it because of color change at an angle period. Doesn't matter if it's over the phone or not. People just need to understand this can and does happen.

Hell apple just put out a comment that the iPhone X will potentially have the exact same "issues" that the xl is getting hammered for.

I see that about the x. BUT as of wednesday talking to google over the phone they would rma for blue tint at shallow angles, google must've tightened up on warranty rma claims unfortunately. The lady even asked for the floor supervisor's name I spoke to who said he'd rma my device. I didn't give it to her as to not get the dude fired but this is ridiculous. Sad that Verizon stands by Google's product better than google does with their own products. And that's the only reason I got upset during this whole adventure. BTW Verizon is making it right for me so I'm happy. Just patiently waiting for replacement :fingers-crossed: for a better more uniform screen. Otherwise as stated numerous times, this device is absolutely amazing!

As much as I hate Verizon, I've never had issues with them if things did go wrong. They just charge the most out of everyone else and give the least lol

Thanks. Mine does it very infrequently, but it just happened now with 1 hour 17 minutes of screen on time.
