Gorilla glass or not, keys are a guarantee for damaging a lot :-(. First scratch here after 5 months of use, yes keys were the blaim..

No mention ,on spec tab,to gorilla glass the same on the others htc device like the desire tha already have gorilla glass. btw thx a lot :)
GSMArena has the HTC Desire HD as Gorilla Glass, if you had a look around XDA and other forums, you will find that there seem to be a misconception that the HTC Desire HD is actually "not" using Gorilla Glass, but regardless, it still seems to use a certain level of quality surface. To be honest, Gorilla or not, it does also scratches, as seen on my GFs Galaxy S I9000 which definitely uses Gorilla.

retina are basically IPS display, no?
and i don't really know if the DHD has a gorilla glass display,
but my nephew accidentally dropped a XBOX360 controller right on the screen of my INSPIRE 4G (same device) from about 70cm high and absolutely nothing happened.

well it might not be the actual keys that scratched the display but could be grit or sand in the pocket.. metal generally doesn't scratch glass.. there are tons of youtube videos of people using keys and penknives to try to cut glass but it usually doesn't work.

but if you use sand or a sharp rock.. now that's a different story. :D
