EDIT:
Not too sure regarding H915 Cross compatibility.............

HTC still has everyone beat w/the ease of bootloader unlocking/compatibility,but man, their phones have become quite boring & featureless (see Pixel/HTC 10/Bolt/HTC 10 Evo)...............
Definitely agree re: HTC I used to be a huge fan of their phones since Windows Mobile waaaaaaaaay back in the days, when HTC started this whole Smart phone trend, back in the days they had the best phones but for the past few years they have been lagging behind since Samsung and Apple took the spotlights.

hi ,,

just wanna ask :

what about the speaker volume and quality ?
( speaker not 3.5mm head jack ) :)
how loud it is ?
is it louder than LG G4 ?
is it loud enough to makes the audio clearly hearable in crowded area ?
and what about the audio quality ?

my 2nd question :
does the Quad DAC audio system is working when the phone is connected by the blutooth to the car ( like dolby atoms for example ) ?!

thank you

sorry if my questions is repeated :)
sorry for my English :)

No answer tell now :(

Getting Canadian H915 Tomorrow.

Getting a Freedom Mobile (formally Wind Mobile) H915 here in Toronto, Canada tomorrow morning. Hope the bootloader is unlocked but from what I read I think it should be. And have root and ROMs soon. :D

Edit: Freedom Mobile has a great deal on it right now. $99 cash payment on it and $15 a month for 24 months. Or buy outright for $799 CAD, down from $999. :good: All plus taxes of course, us Socialists need to pay for our Canuck liberties. ;)

I think it's highly unlikely that this model will receive an unlocked bootloader from LG (or root). The US unlocked version just got it, but again, that's because it's a carrier free model (same thing happened with the V10 h960a). I purchased the wind lg v20 also, so I'm crossing my fingers, however, I'm not holding my breath. I don't think that the h915 will ever be rooted.

How do I check, see if the bootloader is unlocked?

And I'll do a system dump on mine, maybe someone can figure out how to unlock it and/or root it?

I just saw a Toronto Kijiji (Craigslist kinda thing) of someone selling an unlocked H915. I'm in Toronto.

Trust me, the bootloader is not unlocked on our model. The only lg v20 that is currently able to unlock the bootloader is the us996, and you need to fill out the unlock bootloader form on LG's website to do it. Unlocked is not the same as unlocked bootloader. The ad you refer to on Kijiji is an unlocked phone, capable of running on any network. I paid $15 to unlock guy dot ca to unlock my v20 and I'm using it with Telus. Ps I'm also in Toronto.

Yes, you're right that's he's referring to unlocked for carriers, but what is the OEM Unlock option on developer settings?

I did that, going to boot to bootloader and see when I get home.

OEM Unlock option in Developer settings only works if the manufacturer has allowed the bootloader to be software unlocked, which is extremely rare. This won't do anything on the LG V20 from Wind.

I have a problem with headphones

I like the phone so far aside from the fact that it can't be rooted on this firware and that since i put the rubber case this morning the touchscreen stopped being able to open apps twice today by pressing them so the only solution is to reboot... weird...
The main problem is that I tried headphones that have pause buttons and volume up/down buttons and also a microphone and it music works, but the buttons and microphone dont. What is the problem? Do I have change the jack? Is the a way to find an official firmware for this phone and install it even if its unrooted?

h915 can be rooted. I have h915 that is converted to us996 and working fine on freedom mobile.

If I follow these steps, should my Unlocked to any carrier LG V20 H915 phone be still Unlocked, also if all fails how can I restore my Dump backup with LGUP. And the main reason for me to want to try another firmware is wanting the stereo jack to recognize pause (and vol+ -) buttons from headphones with these features. Have you got a pair to try on your US996?

my h915 was unlocked for free from freedom mobile when I did it. if you screw up, you just use patched lgup to flash a h915 kdz to go back to normal h915 setup.

So when it became a US996 it was locked and you unlocked it with Freedom Mobile? Or it was unlocked before you did the conversion from H915 to US996 and stayed unlocked?
