Got a question about roms download

Hi everyone, I'm very excited cause I just S-offed and rooted my sensation yesterday ( first time I ever root!) but I did it using a friends computer cause mine is broken. My question is can I download a Rom from my phone and install it or do I have to download Roms from a computer then put it on my sd card and flash it. Thanks in advance.

You can download directly from your phone without any problems....if the dev provides an md5 I usually use an app called hash Droid to verify the md5

is it imerative to check MD5 for radios as well? I am on Bell it I flash another recommended radio that is not Bell's will I get bricked??
