Now that we have root I was going to change the gps.conf but before I wanted to check the file settings and it's seems mostly empty to me while the phone lock pretty well.

Is it not used anymore? Or did they not care about it?

I was looking at the same thing last night actually. I usually add the oceania servers for the XTRA etc, however lock works well.
