GPS Port for garmin mobile XT

After searching and still confuse , i want to ask here
What port ( hardware and software including baud rate ) do you use to receive satellites' position faster ? because some one said that use 9 and someone said use 4
I had tried all of them, but still i couldn't get the satellites position
