Imo mi5 is much worse than the mi5s. The mi5s has a much better camera, better processor, better antenna connectivity, better build quality (watch jerryrigeverything on YouTube and see how he easily snaps the mi5), and the overall design looks better too but beauty is in the eye of the beholder so you may prefer the mi5. I think it's worth waiting for another month for stocks to come back and it'll probably be cheaper by then too.

Smartophone.com still have grey version at this moment. I will receive mine on monday, it's currently in DHL process so it's not fake stock.

What is your budget ? On Banggood i saw the mi5s at 449$ damn! on smartophone it's 408,57$ with worldwide shipping cost included and supported by DHL. If you want to buy the mi5 cause you don't have the budget, i recommend this serious site: chinadroid.com, prices are very competitive but shipping is slow.

On bangood they had an offer for the 64gb grey mi5s for £244 so I think he was referring to that.

I was initially looking to buy the Mi5 but the jerryrig video put me off at the time.
But ive seen no wave of forum posts complaining about build so i think with a case it should be fine.
Not concerned about speed the 821 is just an overclocked 820.Would have thought the Mi5 with the glass back would have had better reception rather than the metal of Mi5s.The Mi5 camera at least retains OIS along with the IR blaster and gorilla glass.Im still looking for both as the 64GB i had pre-ordered was indeed £244 but BG can't be trusted !

You could see 821 as an overclocked 820, or you could see a quicker CPU with better consume. I mean, from a user perspective it's a better cpu, period. From a technical perspective isn't just an overclock, because a pure overclock means more generated heat and more power consumption. Mi5s is faster, consume less, and does not overheat as much as Mi5. In fact i believe Mi5s (the one you take it as overclocked) has more room for overclock than Mi5. Regarding camera, Mi5s has lesser pixels but capture more light and in consequence implement faster shutter speeds. I'll not talk about faster shutter advantages on picture quality, only that Mi5s won't benefit much from OIS as Mi5 does. Anyway, software could do better on stabilization than optical (see google pixel performance), only two limitations, huge real time processing on videos and loss of resolution/crop at the image margins, but with this bigger and bigger sensors how cares! Don't take me wrong, haven’t yet decided between Mi5 or Mi5s but because another factors, first i think Mi5 is more beautiful, second i don't see a quality full screen protector for Mi5s 2.5d screen and third, 400eur for a grey 4/125G Mi5s (or Mi5) is still more than what i would like to give. I will wait for global rom and released sources (Xiaomi sucks on this things) and price reduction until the limit of Mi6 announcement, and then decide.

Some excellent points, I'd also like to add that 821supports Google's daydream vr platform which the 820 doesn't.

Also I've read that the WiFi card on the mi5 is bad (similar to lg g2) while the mi5s has much better signal strength but I've not really delved too much into this topic so I'm not sure of its legitimacy.

Unfortunately I can't post external links yet, but I bought mine at vickmall.com, they have it in all three colours. I got mine from there in silver, but I was able to pick any color. Hope this helps.

My gray 4gb/128gb Mi 5s from Top-One at Aliexpress was delivered to me in Finland on December 8th. Delivery was super fast, too. A DHL courier picked up the parcel in China on December 3rd, and in the morning of 8th it was delivered to my door in Finland. I've never seen any parcel move so fast, it was actually exciting to track its movements.
No taxes or anything else extra had to be paid just as Top-One promises when you choose the DHL shipping method. They first send it to some company in the UK, and then that company sends it to you, within the EU so there's no tax or customs duties.

Hi Bozy, why not?

I did buy it from them and had a very good experience, fast dispatch and fast delivery for a very good price :)
Apart from you I've not read or seen any reviews, when something is cheap online I tend to avoid it unless there are many people who recommend it. I hope you enjoy your new phone btw :)
