Question Green tint on screen

Search This thread
Galaxy Note 8 cihazından Poco F3'e geçtim. Ekran hakkında söyleyeceğim tek şey F3'ün ekranı berbat ötesi. Tek sorun ekranın yeşil olması değil, bir çok konuda geride malesef.
Also switched from the Galaxy Note 8. The Grey-tones on the Galaxy Note 8 look a bit better and are even, throughout the whole display. On my Poco F3, the Grey on the lower part of the display is noticably darker, compared to the top part of the display. It's uneven. However that's "only" at low to medium brightness.

I'd still go for Poco F3 in terms of display, because 60 Hz vs 120 Hz is a huge difference, and otherwise the Poco F3's colours are good. Just not the Grey tones.

Seriously? How come there can be two different quality of hardware for the same device?

Upon closer look, the second one I bought has some green tint. Unfortunately it's considered normal if you only see it when it's under about 15 percent brightness. When I had my Note 20 UItra it had one of the worst screens I've ever seen. Green tint and weird blotches in the screen. Here are pics of the Note 20 Ultra next to the S21 Ultra that I traded it in for. Look how bad the Note's screen was.

That's not good.. How was it when you watched videos or played games? Still noticeable?

It wasn't all that noticeable if I had the screen brightness over 60% but the blotch was noticeable on any gray screen or the like. It seemed like it got worse over time because it definitely wasn't that bad when I first got the phone. I ended up trading it in for an S21 Ultra which I still have and that screen is flawless. I'm probably going to sell it soon though as I really like the Poco.

Got a Poco F3 since not too long ago, haven't had green tint issue or proximity sensor issue, I guess it depends of manufacturing date of the phone? (Tested many times, for the green tint tested black/gray/dark gray images at min brightness and 120Hz since the issue seems more noticeable like that, no issues so far)

It is pretty bad that it has to be a lottery though, but I think it does happens (or may happen) on any AMOLED phone sadly

I have two F3's, one has some green tint, the other doesn't. It's the same with any screen. Yesterday I bought another 32" MSI curved gaming monitor as I already had one but wanted another to replace a 32" Asus monitor I was using as my second monitor. The screen quality of the new one is way worse than the old one, it has a reddish hue to the whites. So yeah it's always a lottery.

Wow and on screens/monitors it hurts as well, since AMOLED/OLED displays are kinda expensive, specially if they're 144Hz+.

So is the problem MIUI related? Is the green tint visible on e.g. LineageOS (which is officialy released now) or some other Custom ROM that is not based on MIUI?

Half of users have the same issue. I think you already duplicated the thread on xda.
On Telegram we are talking about this. I got this issue too. This is going to be fixed at least partially in future update (see telegram for F3 and there look for media to see image upload history of all users).
Me too, i hope it got fixed soon

Whenever everyone gets 12.5.4 global, do the following if you have tint:

Go to Settings -> Brightness -> Smoothen Transitions and turn it OFF. That will fix it.

No. If you go to Arrow, for example, and use a grey background, there's no tint at all. (See above fix for MIUI Global, once EE makes it to the general public)
No need to wait till 12.5.4 here's an easy fix

Go to display
Then advanced
Let it be on enhanced colors
Scroll down
Make the gamma option full.
As simple as that.

Just do this and see the results. It'll definitely improve. If you have less tint it'll look like it's gone. Try and Lemme know.

Only one downside to this is that
colors may look a lil washed out .

You may try lowering down contrast too. Which will also make a diff.

Help me out guys im in the USA and wanting to buy a poco f3 in a couple of weeks. How bad is the screen tint? Also which model is best EU, China, Global?

    6gb, or 8gb ram?
As I read, many americans who bought this phone had problems because of the bands compatibility with telephony providers (as AT&T or others). Maybe is better to inform more about this before you buy this phone.
Regard green tint, no worry about it...it's specific to some conditions witch you'll not get in normal usage of the phone.

    Anyone got any solutions?
Read kodehawa's response in the previous page
I think I missed your response xiaomi.eu is that on xda? Im not finding it, does the camera work good on roms like arrow and crdroid? How are the custom kernels and is lsposed working?
Yes there is a guide on xda as well, just search for it. Rom can be downloaded from xiaomi.eu. I have no idea about kernels and lsposed. Camera is decent on arrow and crdroid but the best results can be achieved only through stock camera which is only found on stock based roms.

It is rooted but i only use root for naptime. What are the benefits of using xposed?
The benefits for xposed on my s10lite are to allow core patch module which allows disabling signature verification and other install options. That allows you to install vanced youtube which is ad free youtube so its a most. Gravity box which allows all kinds of tweaks on your phone which I'm not sure how it will do with Xiaomi. With samsung devices I have firefds module and that allows call recording but I dont know if Xiaomi has anything like that.

There is a built-in call recorder in xiaomi.eu but not in global rom. Hope that helps.

This CAN'T be fixed via updates because is a hardware issue, they are gonna restrinct or change the color profile and thats all.

Green tint is a hardware issue.

    Hi.

I recently bought a F3, and I'm trying find if the green tint is a common issue or I have bad luck.

    To check it:
    -select in color scheme->advanced->enhanced.
-turn the brightness very low, and turn on dark mode.
-go to the phone app, or one with a solid gray color.

    Not for me, sorry
