Development [GSI][12] Unofficial LineageOS 19 SM-X200

Search This thread
I just realized that there was no google play on lineage 20. I tried to get all the contents required for GP (Google Play), but it keeps crashing as soon as I tap the google play icon. Is there something I'm missing? I even tried to install Gapps through TWRP but didn't help either.
You need to download a build that is labeled 'bgN' if you want Google Play Services

Instructions:
Flash LineageOS for tab a8 sm-x200
  • Format data from TWRP.
  • And wipe all partitions, then just reboot into fastboot and flash your system image
  • fastboot flash system system.img
(system being lineage or google gsi or whatever)
  • then once i have created the folder select the .xz or .gz or .img
  • also a fastboot -w after flashing for additional wiping wouldn't hurt

make sure you have a unlocked bootloader and have twrp installed.

Same problem, I can only boot the device in bootloader mode, it couldn't get into fastboot mode. and fastboot devices code always returns empty response.
While I can connect with adb.exe, I have never been able to connect with fastboot.exe. please tell me where i went wrong :)

Have you installed TWRP? Samsung's recovery doesn't include fastboot. You need TWRP. Also, on the PC you need the latest USB drivers from Samsung. Earlier version don't include fastboot driver.

Yes, of course I did all the prerequisites. Bootlosder lock passive, twrp installed. But only bootmode is active. I couldn't get Fastboot access even via Twrp

I don't know what you mean by "bootmode". If you can boot to TWRP, there should be an option under "Reboot" to reboot to fastboot. If you can't boot to TWRP it is probably because you allowed the tablet to auto-reboot after flashing TWRP. If you do that, it will reboot to system and overwrite what you just flashed with standard recovery.

FULL TWRP BACKUP of SM-X200 on Lineageos 19.1

THANKS ALL YOUS GUYS'!!

While simple enough to put me at fault to not have really keep track, but after a lengthy ordeal i am now happy to be back on my phh 19.1 LOS after many failed attempts to get to 20, but i had such a terrible time getting back to functional again its only GP to just put this here
for if anyone also cant get out of a boot loop and just wants it to work, has root, boots fine but is quite sluggish, might have a ram fix tho idk

here is a way to try some gsi's safe and sound

oh and i got it to work after stock flash then twrp fastboot using the wipe and erase functions, and i also rebooted to fastboot from fastboot and then rebooted into recovery to format and wipe the data cache and metadata , i think all at ext4 but may not matter idk actually much of what i did was likely redundant or irrelevant , but after a long boot hang and reboot twrp an another wipe, i was all good

this si the version end up working for me, would have saved myself so much anxiety if i had just properly done the reading , oh well

How were you able to backup and restore within TWRP for this device?

Has anybody confirmed the TWRP backup part of this post to be true? I don't see how it's possible

to be fair i never actually restored it yet but i just followed the guides and after a working boot i rebooted back into twrp and made a backup which obv ment i had to format the data (and metadata and cache but i dunno if these matter) and then i just w/ mtp copied the backup , but what your asking i think is how TF would one even get the size files back into twrp since in my experience anything of much size just wont , neither with adb push or mtp . the size is due to the super system image so , idk i can try and restore my backup if it would help , or you mean bc twrp wont really mount properly or so i hear and so i might be way off to say a full backup, its just what i got

If you can't backup the data partition, you might as well just flash the system.img again. Amounts to the same thing. You still lose everything and have to start fresh with setup.

I'm thinking of flashing this GSI rom to my old SM-T585 Device.

Any ideas if this would work?

Hey I got Bluetooth to work on LOS19.

I have so far only tested with my Pixel Buds Pro. It worked after I started with a clean install. All I did was turn off USB Debugging (in dev options) and then in the Phh Options >> Misc >> Force-disable A2DP offload (checked it on). Then rebooted the tablet and Bluetooth started working
Legend - this worked for me :)

Anyone else having driver issues when in the fastboot mode on TWRP?

Stock rom w/ unlocked BL.
Using Samsung 1.7.59.0 USB drivers.

Windows shows unrecognized device for SM-X200. ADB works but cant seem to get windows to recognize tab from twrp fastboot.
Wondering if i need to deactivate driver signature enforcement or use any specific driver?

Edit: I found my issue, I had to click "update drivers" -> Have Disk -> show all devices -> Google Inc. -> Android Bootloader Driver.

Did you notice a speed increase after formatting it from exfat to ext4?
No, but I don't really use a tablet for anything that would cause me to notice it. I'm a firm believer in the right tool for the right job. I have three desktop computers for things that require CPU power. I only use my phone for phone calls, and I have a highend 2 in 1 laptop in the "carry bag" along with two Android tablets. I have been known to sit at the bar in my local pub watching the Saints game one of the pubs large screen TV's, with NFL Red zone playing on one tablet, the Nascar race on the other tablet, and reading a book on my laptop. That's my version of multi-tasking. LOL One device for each task rather than multiple tasks on one device.

    Good afternoon everyone,

Anyone could tell how much difference in performance there is, compared stock firmware to 19 or 20 lineage os?
Don't have specific benchmarks, but Lineage 19 feels faster on this tablet than 20.

Even so, both 19 and 20 outperform stock OneUi and saves you disk space

Well she's running smooth. Just has the same problem.. it was crashing every 10 min and I fixed by using graphics driver for all my main apps.. still no blueteeth

I've run into a problem with 64gb SD cards. I've tried 3 different cards that all work in another tablet. TWRP reads and writes to the cards but LOS 19.1 has problems with them. I get notice to re-insert the card and to format it but neither works. 32gb card working fine. Haven't tried anything larger.

edit: Do I need to flash a different kernel to get exFat support?
re-edit: I solved the problem by formatting the 64gb SD card as EXT4. That allowed me to backup the SUPER partition and LOS 19.1 can read/write to it.
