Erm what? You are the one who came here trying to challenge what I put while demonstrating you had no idea what you were talking about and iv advices you and now you are randomly acting like I'm evil or something and I should leave.

Well, thats one very confusion socialisation.
One last time. If you are correct, and the only way to change the partitions is via compiling Android, then the author of this guide must be lying. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-dangerous-resize-system-partition.4315365/

BTW, my "Senior Member" outranks your "Member" status.

You can only resize a partition if it had not already taken up the full stated size by the board it self which is exceedingly rare and only occurs if you did something wrong.

And, now you are just being plain childish and entitled.

I have no idea how to resize the partition, but TWRP does work for this device (kinda) and replaces the regular Samsung recovery if you install it right. Easiest way is when you are running stock, download the TWRP app and flash it with the latest version from this thread:

Data is always OMB. You can't make backups and flash anything through this recovery which is why I'm pretty sure you need to do it through fastboot instead.

All you are really saying is that there has to be room to resize. So, yes, you have to decrease the size of the last partition (internal storage) and move any partitions between it and system, to MAKE ROOM. But it CAN, and has been done, on other Galaxy tablets. Is it dangerous? Of course. That's why I won't attempt it. But it IS possible and has NOTHING to do with compiling Android.

BTW: Your ad hominem attachk calling childish just make YOU look childish.

You need to understand that this tablet is budget, even for Samsung standards and therefore is quite limited in it's capabilities. Most of all the GSIs with countless customization options that I’ve downloaded from SourceForge work fine on my phone, but do not install on this tablet because of it’s limited system partition.

I’ve posted about this in a different thread, but if you are looking for the latest Lineage OS to run on this particular tablet flash this one:

I’ve been running it for the last month and besides no compatibility issues it’s much faster than the stock OS. No hate against OneUI 5, but this tablet’s specs handle Samsung’s latest OS poorly.
Do you know if I am able to flash this los20 build on top of your los19 referenced earlier in the thread?

Has anyone tried it?

Thanks in advance for any pointers/advice your may have too.

Well I pulled an all nighter trying to get 20 to go with no luck.. for me I think I have rounded it down to 2 best files. One that works and the other with the greatest potential.. if it is possible to convert .img to .tar.md5 and I did try with converter.. maybe can flash with oden lineage-19.1-20230323-UNOFFICIAL-arm64_bvN.img.xz as I am I just came across something.. I guess I'm not going to sleep 😪

As mentioned in this thread previously, 20230218-bgN is the only 20 build where everything works including bluetooth

Trying to get away from snooping gapps, degoogleing is a hard thing to do and dont think i am ever going to get everything i want. Hearing how google is sencoring what you see and able to download. I trust them about as much as i trust my goverment. You would think they would be on the side of freedom and not communists.. just saying..

Can anyone help me please?
I got SM-X200 and perfectly installed lineage-20.0-20230418-UNOFFICIAL-arm64_bgN
It looks like all works but after a few minutes the tablet restarted.

Already did a clean install.

My steps:
Format data TWRP
Wiped Data and cache
Booted into fastboot and ran the command:
fastboot flash system lineage-20.0-20230418-UNOFFICIAL-arm64_bgN.img
Rebooted in to system and Lineage started, after a few minutes the tablet reboot.

booted again into twrp and did a factory default. Saw an error with invalid command for /data (couldnt mount)
Rebooted but did not fix the issue.

Anyone any idea how to fix this issue?

Fixed it by installing lineage-19.1-20230418-UNOFFICIAL-arm64_bgN.img

AFAIK, you can't flash a bgN with TWRP because TWRP only has Super and not System. And a bvS, which is Super, doesn't have gapps. What did you flash with TWRP?

bgN and bvS builds install just fine provided that you flash them via fastboot. You can enter fastboot by rebooting through TWRP’s mode.

You are unable to flash builds directly through TWRP since you can't mount data. Because of this, bvS builds are a waste of time for this device since you can’t flash GApps

You can flash directly via TWRP by first formating the data partition. That removes the encryption. The problem with this version of TWRP is that it doesn't have the choice of flashing the system img, which is NOT the same as super. I knew I could flash via fastboot in TWRP but I read your post as saying it could be done directly.

    Instructions:
Flash LineageOS for tab a8 sm-x200
    • Format data from TWRP.
    • And wipe all partitions, then just reboot into fastboot and flash your system image
    • fastboot flash system system.img
(system being lineage or google gsi or whatever)
    • then once i have created the folder select the .xz or .gz or .img
    • also a fastboot -w after flashing for additional wiping wouldn't hurt

make sure you have a unlocked bootloader and have twrp installed.

Did you notice a speed increase after formatting it from exfat to ext4?
No, but I don't really use a tablet for anything that would cause me to notice it. I'm a firm believer in the right tool for the right job. I have three desktop computers for things that require CPU power. I only use my phone for phone calls, and I have a highend 2 in 1 laptop in the "carry bag" along with two Android tablets. I have been known to sit at the bar in my local pub watching the Saints game one of the pubs large screen TV's, with NFL Red zone playing on one tablet, the Nascar race on the other tablet, and reading a book on my laptop. That's my version of multi-tasking. LOL One device for each task rather than multiple tasks on one device.

    Good afternoon everyone,

Anyone could tell how much difference in performance there is, compared stock firmware to 19 or 20 lineage os?
Don't have specific benchmarks, but Lineage 19 feels faster on this tablet than 20.

Even so, both 19 and 20 outperform stock OneUi and saves you disk space

I've run into a problem with 64gb SD cards. I've tried 3 different cards that all work in another tablet. TWRP reads and writes to the cards but LOS 19.1 has problems with them. I get notice to re-insert the card and to format it but neither works. 32gb card working fine. Haven't tried anything larger.

edit: Do I need to flash a different kernel to get exFat support?
re-edit: I solved the problem by formatting the 64gb SD card as EXT4. That allowed me to backup the SUPER partition and LOS 19.1 can read/write to it.
