QUICK SPECIFICATIONS SHEET

  • 4.3" Super AMOLED Plus
  • 1.2 Ghz Dual-core Broadcom CPU
  • Broadcom IV GPU
  • NFC (P version only)
  • 1 GB RAM
  • Android 4.1.2 Jellybean
  • Touchwiz 5.0
  • 8MP Camera with zero (nearly) shutter lag
GUIDES AND TUTORIALS:

Rooting and CWM are described below in the second post. A step-by-step noob-proof guide. Please note that either way will increase your binary counter, which is a counter Samsung used to know whether you have installed a non-official package via Odin, when you display the device for repair. However, the binary counter can easy be reset using Triangle Away
RESOURCES:

  • Generic flashable zip
You may place modded APK's here and provide them as flashable zips for anyone, ideal for themeing.
  • ROM Cooking for S2 Plus
This is a noob-friendly guide on how you can obtain a base ROM for you to work on.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q- Which device is better, the GS II Plus or the original GS II?
A- Well, the original GS II comes with more internal storage, and an Exynos processor, but the GS II Plus comes with NFC, and very stable Jellybean out of the box. Take these pros and cons for each of the devices, and decide yourself.

Q- Is there a Cyanogenmod build available for the GS II Plus?
A- Why yes! Member "skullface" has compiled an Unofficial Cyanogenmod 10.1 (That's 4.2.2) build for the GS II Plus, based on work by "pawitp" for the Galaxy Grand. You can find the thread for CM 10.1 here.

Q- When will a specific subforum for the GS II Plus be made?
A- Well that cannot be told, but please, read above as to how you can request/vote for a subforum.

Q- Do the original GS II covers fit on the GS II Plus?
A- Yup.

Q- Does the GS II Plus perform well, or does it lag?
A- Well, I'd say it performs in an excellent way! Multitasks pretty well thanks to the 1 gigabyte of RAM and runs 4.1.2 quite smoothly, that as long as you don't choke it with apps, personally I have like 15-20 third party apps, and it runs excellently.
Feel free to drop in any questions about the device below.

Still a few days til my SGS2 Plus arrives :) Then I'll start cooking, but for now, if you're interested in cooking a ROM, look at the second post, and contact me if you have difficulties :) .

You can remove bloatware, install MODs like Beats Audio, Crossbreed and 4cyl Turbocharger for better speed and battery.
A rooted phone is simply better.

It's good to have your phone rooted, no doubt about, every phone i had befire sgs2+ it was rootes
But after rooting sgs2+, my phone started to switch itself off while in idle mode, if i left it on before going to sleep then in the morning i'll have switch it on, and battery was like 80%. So i had to come back to stock rom and problem was solved.
