Go to flashtool and connect your phone, then press the padlock Button. If your firmware is able to be rooted and things are correctly installed, this should root the phone

Thanks for this guide. We just purchased one of these at work and it was stuck on a custom rom. We were able to return it to stock and everything looks great. First time handling this phone in person. Now I want to play on it until we sell it!

I am trying to flash the ftf for the r800at and I keep getting the following error:

error in processheader 2: can't find the file specified

It never lists which file it can't find. I have installed flashtool and the xplay, fastboot, and flashmode drivers from flashtool/drivers.

My main problem is that I cannot get any signal in my gsm phone and I think I need to reflash the stock ftf in order to get this back.

Does username of your PC contain specific characters to your language? For example, you downloaded ftf to c:/users/ČŠŽшчћ/downloads then flashtool can't read the path of ftf file

Or maybe your downloaded file containing special characters

Try rename file you downloaded to simple 79.ftf and copy it to C:/
Then try flashtool again and point it to c:/79.ftf

I am not sure what the issue was, but I tried the r800i .62 baseband and that worked. Maybe the r800at baseband I had was corrupt? I am not brave enough right now to try.

On a side note, should I try and upgradte to the .79 baseband I have read about? Is it worth it?

I have an r800at, and I saw no noticable difference between. 79 and. 62.

Seems like a dead phone walking

Hello

I flashed following the indications, but my phone boots the Sony logo, then, black window, turns off and reboots again in a infinite circle.

It doesn't even charge, what to do?

Btw thx for tutorial! :)

If any one has used this guide can you confirm it is correct :) Thanks.

:)Yes I totally agree with abdel12345 your guides are well laid out and not too complicated some times people over explain things and this can complicate things especially if your new to android. That's why I have put a link to your tutorials in my signature because unfortunately some people forget to use the search feature lol;)
Thanks Man as you can see i recently changed my signature to have a gif showing all my tutorials in a stand out way :)

I didn't use the guide but I've flashed an ft before and can confirm those are the correct steps

Great its been a long time and wanted to make sure it was correct as not had much response unlike my other tutorials.

I think its because the other guides are things people use more and don't know how to do while flashing ftf is easier to figure out by yourself. But I've used a couple of you're other guides and they helped a lot. :D:thumbup:
