Which apktool are you using? This one works fine for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=58139464when i decomplie SystemUI.apk from apktool then it shown an exception

I did this before many times and text color was white
yes popup text color in framework but if you didn't edit anything in framework it should be white text not gray like the backgroundIm still looking.
Edit: I don't believe it's in Settings. More like framework? All the .light is removed from Settings....so I'm not sure

i used DeviceDefault and everything is fine download this apkI started with a unmodified fw. All I did was the styles edit removing .light from DeviceDefault on parent. Here is the same image. Black text. Also, I'm on the S5
