  • you will need to be on Stock recovery and hboot to receive the update , also you may need to be on original cid ( instead of super cid ) if you couldn't receive the update
  • if you have :
    • S-OFF then you can go on with the ICS OTA update if you like
    • if you didn't do Revolutionary S-OFF , and used htc dev to unlock the bootloader , then Don't update to ICS , because you will be stuck with S-ON with ICS installed , you will not be able to S-OFF anymore because Revolutionary don't support hboot 1.27
  • to be able to receive ICS update you need to :
    • only do that if you are S-OFF
    • lock the bootloader again ( if you used the htc dev )
    • install htc sync
    • flash your Original GB RUU from PC ( it will replace custom recovery with the Stock recovery and also will replace the hboot with the original locked hboot and you will be able to receive the ICS OTA
  • better than that if you are S-OFF is to install the Rooted ICS OTA here Latest Stock ICS Rom , it will keep your custom recovery and the unlocked hboot , and to do that :
    • flash the firmware 3.32
    • flash the Rooted OTA
    • flash the Rooting tools includes ( superuser and busy box )

hi , i have a problem after i upgrade firmware cid_044 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
my sensa bootlop,
my rom. gingger 2.3.3
Please help me
  • in both cases of upgrade or downgrade , you have to install two items together " the suitable firmware and the suitable Rom to the firmware "
  • in your case " because you said upgrade " , you installed ICS Firmware i guess
  • do the following :
    • after flashing the firmware , remove PG58IMG.zip from SD Card and boot into bootloader then go to recovery
    • copy the custom rom and super wipe to your sd card
    • super wipe first , then install Suitable ICS ROM
    • example : if for example you installed firmware 3.32 according to your cid , then choose an ICS Rom that fits that firmware , i recommend ARHD 6.6.4

I flash my ROM with Revolutionary firmware 3.32.

my bootloader now reads:

HBooT: 1.27.1100
Radio: 11.22.3504.07_M

but I am stuck in a boot loop once i flashed my rom. My CID is 11111111.

Any kind sir can point out to me what I did wrong? I have followed the guide to S-off and permanently root my phone.

Cheers,
Dave

  • the bootloop is because you didn't install an ICS Rom after you flashed the firmware 3.32
  • to install ICS Roms you need to install three things before your first boot of the device , those are " Firmware 3.32 from bootloader , and both super wipe then the ICS Custom Rom from recovery " , then boot the device
  • so , you need now to download super wipe and the ICS Custom Rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849
  • remove the PG58IMG.zip from SD Card to be able to enter bootloader , then from bootloader choose recovery
  • if you don't have Custom recovery , then go here and install 4EXT recovery Guide for installing Both Custom / Stock Recovery ( Downloads and Methods )
  • for easy Method for installing ICS custom roms , go here Post # 2 and follow title 2) Easy Method for Installing ICS Custom Roms ( S-OFF Devices )

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Since I am stuck in a boot load, I have transferred both the revolutionary ROM and the super wipe on to the SD card.

So now I am suppose to boot into fast boot(vol dwn + pwr) and select recovery right? Once I select recovery, the phone hang on a screen with an exclaimation mark. Can you help me?

So if I'm using mike's latest firmware and am currently on ARHD, should I be able to easily flash the latest build of AOKP without having to worry about firmware, radios and kernels?

Yes.. Just use the wipe of 4EXT (wipe/format ----format all partitions except sdcard)
Instead of superwiped and then you are good to go

  • some earphones support only voice calls ,
  • other stereo earphones support both voice calls and music , so if it works normally with voice calls and the problem comes only with music , this due to the earphone itself
  • when you have questions about ARHD , go to its thread , very strong support there

Well I would consider myself a noob to this flashing thing lol....this is only the second phone I have flashed. I know it's not the headset because it worked before I flashed and it still works with my computer. I followed all the threads on the forum I used to root/flash my phone but with so many links I was easily lost lol. And I'm too new to post on developer forums.

Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using XDA

Scratch this. All is well now just need a simple reboot lol.... sorry bout all the trouble but i appreciate all the help!

why cant i find a bloody solution

hi guys, i know this is my first post, but rather than being a noob an commenting on every other post, for many a month ive sat back and read up and researched what you all talk abt an used what information ive needed.
i am currently running the selfkang alpha of cyanogemod 7.0.10.
the reason ive yet to have moved to 9 is that whenever i do try cyanogenmod 9 and just recently extreme sensation rom, i get no 2g/3g signal what so ever. i have looked everywhere for a solution but i feel im the only 1 with this problem. ive tried multiple md5 and radios, but tbh im stil abit of a noob and whenever i do i end up bricking my fone so i resort to my backed up restore an stay put on GB. please help guys.

SOLVED. Please don't duplicate posts, it wastes other members' time if they try to answer a solved question.
There was just about a 20 min gap between your post here & in the help thread.
You need to wait a day or two before you consider re-posting as this isn't a major issue since you had a functional phone anyway.
