Thanks!

aboot downgrade without downgrading entire OS to B01? or shoudl I downgrade entirely??
If you want to stay on B02 STOCK this is the way to go. You don't have to downgrade the whole ROM.
I hope you realize that OTAs won't be possible after this because of the altered system-partition (by rooting the ROM) and the non-matching emmc_appsboot-partition (also known as aboot which could be solved by flashing the other zip file of mine [upgrading aboot to B02 again]).

I have low expectations about another (f)ota from ZTE for now, V02 is stable and doing what I expect it to do. That's why I waited with rooting. The EDL unlock A2017G caused the main issues for me because it all of a sudden asked for a password to start Android, after that I have seen all stages of brick on this device.

Should I upgrade aboot again once done rooting or stay on downgraded? and I suppose rooting directely after installing TWRP is required in order to for the OS to boot (I missed this step in my first attempt

Did you try and enter "default_password" when asked?

No as soon as you root you have to have fastboot up and running and disable dm-verity with the axon7tool: https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/tool-axon7toolkit-t3573108
The thing is that the boot.img is checking if the system partition was altered. If yes the device won't boot at all.

aboot needs to stay downgraded to b01 if you want fastboot to work.

Sorry missed that part. No, as @wineds already said, aboot needs to stay at B01 if you want to keep fastboot.

aboot needs to stay downgraded to b01 if you want fastboot to work.

A quick summary of the steps:

1. Flash TWRP (twrp_rec_tenfar.zip) with axon7tool and QUSB_BULK drivers
2. Upgrade TWRP to twrp-3.1.0-0-ailsa_ii.img (again with axon7tool or TWRP ?)
3. Flash aboot downgrade using TWRP
4. Get fastboot to work using miflash and EDL unlock for A2017U (or G?)
5. Root (latest supersu SR3-SuperSU-v2.79-SR3-20170114223742.zip) using twrp. do not reboot
6. Disable dm-verity using TWRP and latest disabler https://build.nethunter.com/android-tools/no-verity-opt-encrypt/ Version 5.1 I suppose

Should I avoid any reboots except from the one between step 5 and 6 ?

Any other errors in my summary?

EDL Unlock for G is only neccessary if you did not downgrade aboot before, so in your summary EDL unlock for A2017U is enough.

As long as you don't run into any issues reboots are just fine.

*EDIT*
I'd flash TWRP 3.1.0-0 inside tenfar TWRP.

Same here in Switzerland. :D
Just one quick reminder for MiFlash. You need to remove the driver (QUSB_BULK) to be able to use MiFlash.

Glad it worked! Enjoy the rest of your easter monday. :)

When clearing cache and Dalvik in TWRP I get unable to mount storage :(

This is a bug in TWRP. If you choose Extrenal SD in th Install option it will remind this. If at some point in time you choose to wipe something it will create the error. Once chosen internal SD, issue with wiping is solved.

All done. Is the updated procedure in the OP how it is supposed to be? Does the ZIP have to be flashed before MiFlash's thing?
I can't test right now, wouldn't be asking if I could try. Also, would this work on MM, with those zips? I migt add a disclaimer as well, cause it probably won't

The guide looks messed up from the xda app? What in the heavens is happening with this app...
Two of the guide's parts are missing and mashed up with the previous parts... Can someone confirm if it is really broken on mobile??

It doesn't really matter. However, to get fastboot running it has to be flashed.
It suggest flashing it before MiFlash.

For MM I would probably use the B10 aboot. It might work but somebody would have to test it.
