Yeah PIE ROMs are good for VoWIFI. However every Q based custom ROM so far are not - at least for my carrier. :crying:
oh crap, guess will have to stick around with Pie longer then, unless someone confirms the Jio VoWiFi works on Q as well. I was hoping to upgrade it this month

what did you do to make it work, i am on latest pixel experience 9.0, and can't seem to get that pdc thing to detect my phone
On miui 11, android pie - there is absolutely no need to do anything. Vowifi is on by default. Works well with both jio and airtel. I wonder why PPL are making such a big deal about the settings and all.

Hi I think it depends which country and operator you are in. For me in the UK with a Mi MIx 2s on BT Mobile, the SIM was enabled with VoWiFi and VOLTE. I could turn them both on in Miui 11. But only VOLTE worked. I'm guessing the network profile somehow wasn't complete for my phone. If I perform the changes shown in Post 1 then VoWifi starts to work as well...

what's pdc? Anyway i did not do anything besides checking if WiFi calling is enabled in Mobile Networks under Jio, I was kind surprised myself that it worked out of the box.

Maybe you could try flashing different vendor/firmware like I'm on 10.3.7

Also you could check on some different wifi network/isp as well. Like i have 2 routers in my home, in one of them there is VPN setup. If connected to that router, wifi calling does not work. Even after switching back to other router (without VPN), wifi calling doesn't work unless i restart my phone.

Hi is it possible to set the phone to force use WiFi calling on Airplane mode?
Yes! Switch to airplane mode, turn on WiFi and wait a moment. If you see the carrier logo in the top left of your lock screen you have VoWifi :). I do this at work all the time where the mobile signal is too weak even to sustain a stable 2G connection.

Btw. latest CrDroid 6.2 update got VoWifi working for carriers in germany. :highfive:

I tried it. It doesn't work with Jio.

Interesting. Maybe it's carrier dependent then, as I waited for almost 5 mins nothing happened. By the way, is carrier video calling working for you? For me, it starts but when other picks up the call my screen goes black and call disconnects after 5 secs.

Should work for every carrier that supports VoWifi so I guess either your carrier doesn't support it or your phone is not configured correctly. Have you checked your settings if vowifi is enabled in your mobile network settings? Also try dialing #*#*4636*#*# and open "phone information". Wifi Call provisioning should enabled and possibly grayed out like on my device.
Video call is not supported for my carrier so I cannot say if it works sorry.

I think its carrier dependent only, as Wifi callings works otherwise(without airplane mode). Anyway is the code correct, doesn't happen anything when i dial?

Thanks. But didn't work for me, same result as Mafioso. Could be carrier dependent I think.

Interestingly when am on the Airplane mode, enable WiFi and turn on 'Mobile Radio Power' using the code *#*#4636#*#*, Wi-Fi calling works. Though the phone is in Airplane mode, the Radios have been turned on but I guess that beats the purpose of enabling Airplane mode first-hand. Need to test with Network Guru app and see the radio receptions to confirm.

Found this : Force enable VOLTE - VOWIFI on OP7 PRO - https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/help/force-enable-volte-vowifi-t3934227

Turning on mobile radio power means implicitly going out of airplane mode

works on miui.eu 11 xiaomi mi8 , digi mobil romania. dt-greece. But after restart it goes to default volte no vowifi.
Solved : I installed MI8_V11.0.6.0.QEACNXM_v11-10 open PDC and remove the active line ( ROW_COMMERCIAL) and activate DT_GREECE after that vowifi works after reboot.
Don't forget the two codes VoLTE *#*#86583#*#* , VoWIFI *#*#869434#*#*.

@ mihaianti Can you please tell me how you made VoWifi work on Digi Romania? It says that is configured, it does show up in settings and is activated but it does not work. Volte works fine but vowifi doesn't want to. Miui 11 stock.

You need to install qpst and follow the steps from first post ! It does not work on every rom ( for me vowifi worked correctly only on xiaomi.eu_multi_MI8_V11.0.6.0.QEACNXM_v11-10 but not on xiaomi.eu_multi_MI8_20.1.16_v11-10 ) You have to be rooted !

Well this is just an FYI for anybody who is struggling to get this working for their phones, in India, Airtel voWIFI will work only in your home circles i.e if you have a sim from rajasthan don't expect your voWifi to work in bangalore, although it may some times but thats just luck.
