downgrading to gb

Hi I m currently running JellyBam alpha 4 (4.1.1. v2 kernel) and I m thinking about come back to gingerbread, i've read threats about and think that I got it but I just wanna make sure that I'm doing correctly.

So, if I am on JellyBam alpha 4 and want to downgrade to gingerbread:

1.- Download i9003xxxkpe, i9003xxxkpq, i9003ddlf2 (.tar rar file), cfroot ddlf2 and odin 1.85.

2.- turn of the phone, starts odin and conect the usb to the phone.

3.- turn on the phone on download mode (vol down + power)

4.- select the pit, pda, phone, bootloader and csc file from i9003xxkpe.rar file).

5.- Click start button, and wait untill pass message shows.

6.- Boot, leave it at homescreen five minutes and turn off again

7.- Starts odin, connect the usb to the phone and then turn on the phone into download mode again (vol down + power)

8.- check reset button on odin and select I9003XXKPQ_I9003XXKPQ_I9003SERKPQ_HOME.tar.md5 as PDA

9.- click start button and after pass message restart the phone.

10. that's it

I`m questioning about this procedure, is this or is in any other way?

thanks

Make sure you check repartition option in odin while you flash xxkpe. You dont need xxkpq if you are planing ddlf2. Just wondering why you want to come back is jellybam buggy.

I dont know if I will come back to gingerbread or not. JellyBam 4.1.1 is great for a normal use of the phone, smooth, stable and a very acceptable battery use, but still got some bugs and maybe I install other rom (probably CM9) waiting for dhiru, adi and all that great guys developed kernel 3.0.8

Thanks for the info, so I dont need kpq? I wanna install it cause was the bandbase that I ve got when I root my sl i9003 and was great

Errors everywhere

My phone is going crazy !

In the beginning I was on JPKP5 with CF-Root and ext4 and everything is great for a long time. Suddenly many apps started forceclosing. I did a factory reset and everything force closes. Google Apps, Stock apps, Go launcher and the stock launcher, etc... I had a nandroid backup (I don't remeber when did I make it) but I used it and still everything force closes except the launchers are working. Had problems with the pc detecting the phone (even Odin) and read that it has to do with the usb port. Changed the port and the pc successfully detected it. However when it came back from the shop the back speaker wasn't working (will check that latter). I tried flashing XXKPE but it tells me Can't moun dbdata. Flashed the JPKP5, stuck at Samsung logo, CF-Root, still stuck, nandroid, phone starts up but everything is still force closing. Repeated flashing XXKPE and the XXKPQ but boot loops and when I flash its CF-Root just shows a dark blue screen (nothing at all). Repeat and flash CM10 Alpha 4, CM recovery says Can't load /cache/ log and lots of other stuff.Tried factory reset and cache wipe but gave lots of errors too (stuff to do with the cache). Also when I go to mounts I couldn't find "format dbdata". Now I try to flash XXKPE and it says E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p3... and also "Data wipe failed"

What is going on with my phone :D?

Why would you even flash kp9 that firmware was dated 2011--it was the first beta for gingerbread. /facepalm

becoz before its bootloops, i remember da version in setting was kp9, i m afraid if changing made my imei or anything related to it lost, but if u say so, then what firmware version should i flash sir?

n really thank you for answering, i was about to throw this device to pool after 20+ times flashing with odin, it says pass but i got kernel panic. so, in ur opinion, what firmware i should use?

btw, i m from MALAYSIA (Asia) if thats helping n thanks again sir

Hi,
I've tried to search this thread and don't seem to have found any references...

Now in this thread it says "you can choose any 2.3.6 firmware" for my Samsung I9003 device.
So I chose XXLE4 among the many offered at sammobile.com (because it says "Russia", and I just happen to be in Russia, otherwise makes no difference to me).
But now after having read here and there I'm in doubt: should it be flashed to my 2.2.1 phone directly following procedures herein mentioned, or do I need any preliminary ROMs to flash before it?

My goal is (1) upgrade to 2.3.6, then (2) to ROOT it, then (3) upgrade to KitKat or later versions of Android.
Because with version 2.2.1 I can't find the apps I'm using on my tablet (4.4 KitKat). I believe it is the Android version to blame for it.

Will be very thankful for any help on this matter. Or maybe my understanding of the matters is entirely incorrect -- in such case will be thankful for correction.

or try DDMF1
Hi, I've downloaded DDMF1, so my question is still the same I asked above about some other version: is it OK just to flash it onto my I9003 with 2.2.1 on it without any preliminary upgrades? Well, just like it says elsewhere: "version XX** works only from version XX** etc..."
