HI again. I managed to get my HU into flashmode, so i can start memory test and backup BOOT1 ... however, when trying to backup ROM_USER the pulling process interrupts as the radio boots up after 15 minutes...
(the only way to get it into flashmode is to start ReadBack, then connect the usb and then connect the power)
Any suggestion how to prevent the radio boot up after 15 minutes in order to finish the readback?
Thanks

That's a tad strange phenomenon. Is the motherboard completely disconnected from everything including the screen when you attempt this? Normally you shouldn't need to connect it to power during this operation. You could also try to disconnect it from power about 5 min into backup of User_ROM.

And there's your answer. Please follow the video instructions closely.
Well, so i made some tests...
Even with display disconnected, the HU WONT start in flashmode after connecting the USB...
Even with display disconnected, the HU WILL start in flashmode after connecting the power...
Disconnecting the power after 5 minutes disrupts the readback process - both - with or withouth display connected...
And both - with or without display connected - the HU will boot up to normal mode after being 15 minites in flashmode...

That's a strange problem. Okay, please post high resolution photos of you motherboard, including a clear picture of the motherboard version and the label inside the big white connector. Also take picture of the back and front of your head unit.

Okay I see what the problem is. Your head unit isn't compatible.

Check the pictures in the OP, you'll see what a compatible motherboard should look like
Well, yes, sir, we knew that already a month ago my HW is not compatible with your SW... And im not trying to install your SW... Im trying to make that damner Readback and then find a way to modify my files to flash root or twrp into it...
Anyways, thank you

There might be some security mechanism on your flash drive. Or your FRP isn't unlocked. Other than that, can't really help you.

Factory Reset Protection. Means you can't upload any firmware by standard means. You need to remove the lock first. Don't ask me how however, as I'm unfamiliar with your head unit type.
OK. And hypotetically, this lock can cause the protection to be open less than 15 minutes and then close?
Im asking, cuz the Readback works fine under 15 mins. The BOOT1 i successfully obyained, as it was a few seconds job... But the ROM_USER reached 5,08GB and then the connection failed as the device booted into normal mode.
I also tested and can confirm that what matters is the time (15 minutes) and not the ammount of data downloaded, as i have try on slower laptop and faoled at 15mins, but less data dovnloaded (4,7GB)...
So... Can the lock be open for some time and then close?

The lock would activate after a fixed amount of time to prevent firmware upload.

hello, I seemed to have bricked my hu. Everything went through without error, I followed the backup procedure to the letter. But ive had no luck getting the oem rom back on. Im attaching a snap shot of my kernel. Can you verify that my unit is useable with this software, and if so which one. I had the fake 9.1 on here originally. thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear that. Do you have a picture of your System Info?

1. Describe exactly what is happening to your head unit when you try to boot.

2. Describe at what stage during the package installation it got bricked.

3. Did you manage to restore your backup successfully before installing the mod?

4. Why can't you restore your backup? The computer doesn't detect the head unit? Have you tried the Test Point restoration method?

This should be a good start. If possible, attach picture of your motherboard back and front as well as the label on the big white connector (as shown for YT9218CH in the original post).

I thought i had taken a pic of my system info, but I guess i didnt.

when i power it, up buttons lightup, and the screen lights up like its about to boot, but never does. then the screen becomes darker again, this cycle repeats about every 30 secs.

I actually didnt try the backups before. Im not sure why the backups dont restore, I dont get any errors and everything seems to work.

I havent tried to open up the unit yet or do the test point method yet, was going to try that next, just thought i would see if there was something else i was missing or make double shure my kernel was right. I actually thought i had the yt9216bf??

No you can't. Not without risking bricking your head unit. In order to upgrade to Android 8, you need to do highly advanced tasks including hardware tinkering. We do not recommend this unless you really know what you are doing.

Hi, I have YT9213AJ with Android 10(Not sure if that's accurate but it says so). What would you recommend in terms of flashing in my device. Is the android 6 or 8 version that you have shared work on this.

Please first check if you have the audio chip.

Mate, Could I try to install this MOD or Restore own Backup on new Windows 11 instead old Windows 10?

If you can install the drivers successfully then yes.

    Hi all,

If you want to greatly improve the way your head unit works, sounds and looks like - you've come to the right place!

    Why install this?

With any of these packages you will greatly improve:
    • Stability
    • Speed
    • User Interface
    • Sound tweaking options
    • Customization options

I wanted to share these all-in-one software packages with you, that I put together using various sources as well as my own modifications for Chinese Android Head units with 1Gb RAM and 16Gb FLASH drive, no physical buttons, models:
    • YT9213AJ (with Audio Chip types: TDA, CSC or SCS)
      Fade not working 8227L YT9213.jpg YT9213AJ_00011_V001_20200421.png

    • YT9216B & YT9217B (same package)

    Disclaimer
I do not create the software itself but rather use research and put together different mods and hacks into one package that includes very user-friendly step-by-step instructions on how to install it all. You will find the links to original posts in the instructions pdf's if credit is due. The software might include smaller changes made by me and has been fully tested in real units.

    The Software Packages contain:

    • YT9213AJ custom firmware
    • YT9216B/YT9217B custom firmware with split-screen option
    • YT9218CH custom firmware

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE (upgrading from working stock firmware):
    1. DO NOT SKIP ANY STEPS, AND INSTALL EVERYTHING IN THE CORRECT ORDER. STEPS 5 AND 6 ARE MOST CRITICAL.

    2. Proceed to download the software package for your unit and the drivers package in the same folder

    3. It's highly recommended to do these upgrades with your unit connected on your desktop, rather than in the car. Video Guide

    4. Install the Mediatek & ADB drivers on your Windows computer. Video Guide - use the same principle for ADB drivers.

    5. Backup your current system by exporting a full memory dump. Video Guide

    6. Import back your memory dump from step-5 to ensure it fully works. This is how.

    7. Install the package. Separate instructions are included in every folder of the downloaded zip file. Follow them by the order.

IF THIS SOFTWARE PACKAGE HAS BRICKED YOUR HEAD UNIT AND YOU HAVE YOUR BACKUP AVAILABLE, follow the steps below:
    1. DO NOT SKIP ANY STEPS, AND INSTALL EVERYTHING IN THE CORRECT ORDER.

    2. It's highly recommended to do these upgrades with your unit connected on your desktop, rather than in the car. Video Guide

    3. Install the Mediatek & ADB drivers on your Windows computer. Video Guide - use the same principle for ADB drivers - (download link is in the video description)

    4. Watch this video on Test Point recovery

    5. Import back your memory dump. This is how.

    6. If successful - try to install the software package again or stay with your original one

IF THIS SOFTWARE PACKAGE HAS BRICKED YOUR HEAD UNIT AND YOU HAVE NO BACKUP AVAILABLE, follow the steps below:
    1. Share the pictures of your System Info and Kernel in this thread and I'll try to help you
    ---------------------------------------

IF YOUR HEAD UNIT HAS PHYSICAL BUTTONS: this software has only been tested on head units with no physical buttons (like volume). Before making any changes, access the CAR SETTINGS -> FACTORY SETTINGS -> ENCODER SETTINGS on your head unit and take a screenshot of the current settings (see example below). After installing the package, go back to these settings and adjust them if needed. If that doesn't help and if you can't successfully re-calibrate the buttons after installing the firmware, restore your backup.

    QUOTE=iceblue1980;83842081]Hi all,

Wanted to share this MOD with you that I created for 8227L_demo Android Head unit, model: YT9213AJ with 1Gb RAM and 16Gb FLASH drive. You can use this to debrick your unit or to fully install the latest firmware (Aug2020) with fully working:

    YT9213AJ_00011_V001_20200806

    ROOT (SuperSU)
    TWRP Recovery
    Viper4Android / Viper4A / ViperFX
Scatter file (should work for any 8227L YT921xx device)
    Full Memory Dump

    Download link

    How to use
    1. Download the file and unzip it onto you PC hard drive
    2. Make sure Mediatek drivers are correctly installed on your PC (you can view many guides here on XDA on how to properly install them)
    3. Download FlashTool version 5.1824 (or you will get transfer errors with reading DRAM or Scatter file) - if this version doesn't work try other versions between v5.1736 and v5.1916
    4. In Flash Tool, 'write to memory' both BOOT1 and ROM_USER file (search for instructions on XDA on ow to import memory dump) using the information from "Memory Map.txt" file (shows what memory values to type in when importing in the Flash Tool) and you will need USB-A cable for this. During this step make sure your head unit is completely disconnected from car battery or any other power source
    5. When installation is complete (import can take roughly 20 min), restart the unit in TWRP Recovery mode (use the Shutdown app that came pre-installed with the mod) and in TWRP pick "Wipe Cache / Dalvik".
    6. Done!

If you are doing brick recovery, you can follow the very same method with Test Point method also fully described here on XDA Forums.

    Enjoy!
