I thought i had taken a pic of my system info, but I guess i didnt.

when i power it, up buttons lightup, and the screen lights up like its about to boot, but never does. then the screen becomes darker again, this cycle repeats about every 30 secs.

I actually didnt try the backups before. Im not sure why the backups dont restore, I dont get any errors and everything seems to work.

I havent tried to open up the unit yet or do the test point method yet, was going to try that next, just thought i would see if there was something else i was missing or make double shure my kernel was right. I actually thought i had the yt9216bf??

In the instructions it clearly states to first backup and then to restore your backup, before doing the mod.

You head unit isn't bricked. It's in a bootloop. You need to restore your backup as per the video instructions. Also YT9216BF is likely to have come with Android 8 not Android 6, which would be the main reason for why this package didn't work. Once you have restored your head unit, try our Android 8 package instead.

Yes it is 8.1 saying 9.1 i actually had tried the 8.1 package first. The reason i didnt test out my backups is, i have about 4 of these units that the chinese company has sent me. Everytime i had an issue or question they would just send me another one..lol. ill try to restore the backup again. I just wanted to verify that i should be using the 8.1 package. Thanks

The 8.1, 9.1, 10 and 11 version of Android are all fake. In reality these units can only run Android 6, 7 or 8. MOst common is 6 and 8.

The link is in the first post.
I'm so so so sorry but I don't understand: in your previous port U said: "No, this mod isn't compatible with your head unit. The Android 8 mod is however."
and if I ask for a guide to follow U say: "the link is in the first post."
so, please, what guide I have to follow? can you please indicate me the link? thanks so much

Your motherboard is compatible. Really strange it doesn't work.
I got the restoration of the backup to work this time. Only thing i did different was put just the files listed in the directions in a new folder. I guess I had did something wrong or chose the wrong rom file before, not sure. but im back into the unit, where i started. going to attach a pic of my system info screen, just in case im missing something as to why it hasnt flashed. After looking at it, I downloaded the supermod for 9216BJ, this unit is just a "b" unit. but it also has the fake android 9.1 which i assumed would mean it had 8.1. So does this mean it actually has android 6 on it?

Please share your Kernel version. Then I'll be able to tell.

im trying to flash the new firmware again. The instructions say to only check the bootimg, android, and vendor, but i dont have a vendor file listed??

Vendor isn't always present.

Glad to hear it. Our software shows real specs while the Chinese ones are hacked to show fake data.

Check available RAM with an app like CPU-Z and share the screenshot.

Just modified my unit and for this...thank so much. it works great.
Just an information: I stopped at point 2 (firmware and TWRP went great). It's necessary I finish other points (root, viper and car launcher) or U think I can stop here and ressemble unit in my car?

It's highly recommended to install the package in full. Otherwise you're not really making any improvements to your head unit.

Root is key. You can speed up your device considerably with root. Make sure to check out "speed hacks" post in our signature.

Viper4Android - if you don't listen to music much, you can skip it.

Car Launcher - optional if you are okay with the stock launcher.

Hi, I have YT9213AJ with Android 10(Not sure if that's accurate but it says so). What would you recommend in terms of flashing in my device. Is the android 6 or 8 version that you have shared work on this.

Please first check if you have the audio chip.

Mate, Could I try to install this MOD or Restore own Backup on new Windows 11 instead old Windows 10?

If you can install the drivers successfully then yes.

What if I use default Car Power Supply instead of desktop power supply?

Use whatever you can easily turn on and off

My problem is that I can't connect my hu to my PC. I connect it but my PC can't recognize it. I have installed the media Tek drivers on my PC successfully by following the described procedure

Some units require power to function. After inserting the USB cable, wait 2 seconds and then connect your head unit to power.

    Hi all,

If you want to greatly improve the way your head unit works, sounds and looks like - you've come to the right place!

    Why install this?

With any of these packages you will greatly improve:
    • Stability
    • Speed
    • User Interface
    • Sound tweaking options
    • Customization options

I wanted to share these all-in-one software packages with you, that I put together using various sources as well as my own modifications for Chinese Android Head units with 1Gb RAM and 16Gb FLASH drive, no physical buttons, models:
    • YT9213AJ (with Audio Chip types: TDA, CSC or SCS)
      Fade not working 8227L YT9213.jpg YT9213AJ_00011_V001_20200421.png

    • YT9216B & YT9217B (same package)

    • YT9218CH

    Disclaimer
I do not create the software itself but rather use research and put together different mods and hacks into one package that includes very user-friendly step-by-step instructions on how to install it all. You will find the links to original posts in the instructions pdf's if credit is due. The software might include smaller changes made by me and has been fully tested in real units.

    The Software Packages contain:

    • YT9213AJ custom firmware
    • YT9216B/YT9217B custom firmware with split-screen option
    • YT9218CH custom firmware
    • ROOT (SuperSU)
    • TWRP Recovery
    • Viper4Android / Viper4A / ViperFX
    • Custom UI (Car Launcher)
    • Custom Boot Animation

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE (upgrading from working stock firmware):
    1. DO NOT SKIP ANY STEPS, AND INSTALL EVERYTHING IN THE CORRECT ORDER. STEPS 5 AND 6 ARE MOST CRITICAL.

    2. Proceed to download the software package for your unit and the drivers package in the same folder

    3. It's highly recommended to do these upgrades with your unit connected on your desktop, rather than in the car. Video Guide

    4. Install the Mediatek & ADB drivers on your Windows computer. Video Guide - use the same principle for ADB drivers.

    5. Backup your current system by exporting a full memory dump. Video Guide

    6. Import back your memory dump from step-5 to ensure it fully works. This is how.

    7. Install the package. Separate instructions are included in every folder of the downloaded zip file. Follow them by the order.

IF THIS SOFTWARE PACKAGE HAS BRICKED YOUR HEAD UNIT AND YOU HAVE YOUR BACKUP AVAILABLE, follow the steps below:
    1. DO NOT SKIP ANY STEPS, AND INSTALL EVERYTHING IN THE CORRECT ORDER.

    2. It's highly recommended to do these upgrades with your unit connected on your desktop, rather than in the car. Video Guide

    3. Install the Mediatek & ADB drivers on your Windows computer. Video Guide - use the same principle for ADB drivers - (download link is in the video description)

    4. Watch this video on Test Point recovery

    5. Import back your memory dump. This is how.

    6. If successful - try to install the software package again or stay with your original one

IF THIS SOFTWARE PACKAGE HAS BRICKED YOUR HEAD UNIT AND YOU HAVE NO BACKUP AVAILABLE, follow the steps below:
    1. Share the pictures of your System Info and Kernel in this thread and I'll try to help you
    ---------------------------------------

IF YOUR HEAD UNIT HAS PHYSICAL BUTTONS: this software has only been tested on head units with no physical buttons (like volume). Before making any changes, access the CAR SETTINGS -> FACTORY SETTINGS -> ENCODER SETTINGS on your head unit and take a screenshot of the current settings (see example below). After installing the package, go back to these settings and adjust them if needed. If that doesn't help and if you can't successfully re-calibrate the buttons after installing the firmware, restore your backup.

    QUOTE=iceblue1980;83842081]Hi all,

Wanted to share this MOD with you that I created for 8227L_demo Android Head unit, model: YT9213AJ with 1Gb RAM and 16Gb FLASH drive. You can use this to debrick your unit or to fully install the latest firmware (Aug2020) with fully working:

    YT9213AJ_00011_V001_20200806

    ROOT (SuperSU)
    TWRP Recovery
    Viper4Android / Viper4A / ViperFX
Scatter file (should work for any 8227L YT921xx device)
    Full Memory Dump

    Download link

    How to use
    1. Download the file and unzip it onto you PC hard drive
    2. Make sure Mediatek drivers are correctly installed on your PC (you can view many guides here on XDA on how to properly install them)
    3. Download FlashTool version 5.1824 (or you will get transfer errors with reading DRAM or Scatter file) - if this version doesn't work try other versions between v5.1736 and v5.1916
    4. In Flash Tool, 'write to memory' both BOOT1 and ROM_USER file (search for instructions on XDA on ow to import memory dump) using the information from "Memory Map.txt" file (shows what memory values to type in when importing in the Flash Tool) and you will need USB-A cable for this. During this step make sure your head unit is completely disconnected from car battery or any other power source
    5. When installation is complete (import can take roughly 20 min), restart the unit in TWRP Recovery mode (use the Shutdown app that came pre-installed with the mod) and in TWRP pick "Wipe Cache / Dalvik".
    6. Done!

If you are doing brick recovery, you can follow the very same method with Test Point method also fully described here on XDA Forums.

    Enjoy!
