Oh I see. If you had Android 6 installed then you can't run this package, nor should you.

Android 6 has much more stable root and in general just a better option for modding.

Please use our Android 6 package for your unit type.

So I finally got it to work. It seems your TWRP pdf instruction step 5 is off. which caused me to have the error. it should be this:

*******Put a copy of your unique scatter and preloader file into the 1. FIRMWARE folder and rename the *.img file into recovery.img FROM 2.TWRP and move the recovery.img file into the 1. FIRMWARE FOLDER********

now I have it installed and running smoother than ever. Now the problem is when im in terminal emulator and run the command it comes to a russian language setup so im installing google translate to see if I can figure it out . Thank you for your instructions

Great catch, thank you! We have updated the instructions files in all the packages. Here is the TWRP guide that is now included: LINK. It covers the change of language from Russian as well.

Actually that is not the optimal way of doing this. You need to flash the firmware without replacing the original recovery.img file. Then start the head unit and make full factory reset and only after flash the TWRP file by itself.

Hi all

Got a weird issue with my YT9216BJ stereo that I am hoping this mod will resolve.

The stereo randomly powers on and drains my battery and I don't understand why. The built in launcher is poor but I've installed my purchased version of Agama from a previous Android Head Unit and it works much better.

I have attached pictures of the stereo settings pages to see if this update is compatible or not

Your head unit is compatible with this mod. It will not solve your particular issue however. In order to solve it, you need to rewire it in your car. Simply put, connect your B+ and ACC cable to the ACC input in your car. This way your stereo will only power on when you start the car. With this mod, the startup time will go down considerably as well. Enjoy!

Thanks for the reply. I used the wiring harnesses that came with it and attached it to my existing cradle. I'm guessing then that the wiring harness needs modifying to fix the problem?

I'll probably wait until weekend to have a look at that properly then

Yes but all you need to do is to remove the B+ cable where it connects to the car socket and then twist it together with the ACC one.

For some reason, I cannot get my pc to recognize my HU to flash. Ive bought a new usb cable, ive installed the drivers twice as instructed, even downloaded microsoft update packs with driver updates. Nothing I do lets me flash my device. Im running 8227L 8.1.13 any help is appreciated.

Go into your headunit factory settings password 8888 and click on usb settings after that you will see an option to make usb into host or device. Click on device and than try with opening spf tool. (Also make sure you are using the 4 pin usb connector and not the 6 pin)

Actually he has a different unit (look at the XYAuto version on the System info screen, it has no "B" in it). This will work and it should work on your head unit as well. We have tested your head unit with our TWRP files and they worked fine. We can record a video of such unit to show proof. Try this file. It's what we have for the newest generation units.

Make sure to use your own scatter file that you have extracted when you made the backup.
