Hoping you can help me out with this.

I have YT9216CJ Tesla Style unit. 2G+32
I've followed the video tutorial all the way to the bonus (There is an instructional gap in the bonus. I left comment on vid)
I go to install new firmware as instructed. Download completes in about 2.5 minutes.
However, it never boots again. Instead it flashes the initial Mitsubishi Logo, screen glitches a bit. I've waited over an hour but it never boots into Android.
I have restored my original backup per the instructions and everything is fine there.

I also saw in a different thread for the Android 6 variants that the software wasn't for "HIFI" models. Is this still the case?

Any help would be appreciated.

this firmware is definitely not compatible with your model mainly because of resolution/screen orientation, but probably you can use the files from this thread to just get root.
Just by flashing recovery.img with TWRP recovery and installing the magisk root .zip package through it, if only that you need.
(Not sure about screen orientation in TWRP recovery mode)
Although I don't know what you expect from root.

A few things. I want to be able to:
1. Use a 5ghz wifi adapter.
2. I was hoping the new firmware would fix the intermittent HVAC control issues I am having.
3. Hoping to address statement issues that prevent the installation/playback on Netflix, HBO, etc.
4. Root should help me sort out issues using my iPod I think. Right now the unit does not recognize that it is even bugged in.
5. Automating some tasks via tasker.

Either way, this is a good suggestion. Gonna try now.

Looks like the same issue that prevent the custom firmware from loading also prevents TWRP from displaying properly. neither the 2GB or 1 GB version work.

I was able to reflash my original recovery.

@robbyastra you have the same style unit as me so it's probably not worth the effort you are going through to get it connected.

Yes it would seem our units are the same.

It's a shame we can't get a decent mod onto our HU's - I thought this might have been it.

I was using laptop on mains power and I turned off all power saving features so I'm not sure what the problem is. I'll try the 2 second trick you mentioned.

How can I check and amend the COM port config?
Also, I was doing this in the car using the car battery... Just disconnecting and then connecting the HU when needed. Could that cause any issue?

I'd still like to complete this first step as regardless of everything, I'd still like a backup .

Your head unit is currently running Android 6 API 23 so you can't use this mod, unless you have access to a compatible Android 8 preloader for your head unit.

What you "see" is a fake Android version. What you should look at is something else entirely. As we specialize in these kind of head units, we can now simply tell the real Android version by looking at your Kernel and MCU.

I'm really sorry to say this but if you got 9212B model, Equalizer, Fade and SUbWoofer control will not work as your head unit does not have a proper audio processing chip.

I have no mods for this unit because it's so incredibly bad, that it makes no sense trying to improve anything.

If you bought it recently, try to return it.

My friend, how are you? I'm back... lol... I replaced my chip with a TDA7850. The audio improved considerably and I was able to solve the problem with the radio application, which even at volume 0 it continued to output sound. Will I be able to install the MODS now or do I still not deserve it? Thank you again for your time

As far as we can tell, your model isn't supported right now. Proceed at your own risk. As a side note: make sure to install active cooling for the TDA7850 or your head unit will burn up. In addition, you need to change the 100 nf capacitors leading to the speaker outputs on TDA7850 to 2,5 uf (should be 4 in total).

You might have a version of the unit that requires to be connected to power after inserting the USB cable. This will not work in a car and has to be done on a desktop.

• Following the instructions, insert the USB cable (use only 4 pin port) and after 2 seconds, connect the head unit to power
  
  If the above doesn't work then:
  
  
• Check so that the drivers were correctly installed
• Make sure your USB cable is shorter than 1m
• Make sure not to use any USB-hubs, only straight connections
• Do not use USB3 ports (the blue ones), only USB2 (normally black ones)
• Your laptop should run Windows 7 or 10, Windows11 isn't officially supported
• Turn off USB power management for your USB devices in the Windows Device Manager

Thank you very much for the answer, it might be because of the windows being 11 because I did try with power on the head unit. I will try on a older computer. My cable is quite long too but it's pretty good quality, I will try to get a shorter one too.

Bună, am o unitate cu Android 11 (nu cred), cu versiunea F9212B_AHD_00020_V001, XY AUTO:F7.0(X2) DISPLAY 1024X600, MCU:4.2(X2) DDR:2GB ȘI FLASH:32GB, este dedicat pentru Ford C-Max 2008, și nu funcționează foarte bine, și văd pe site-ul XYAuto un firmware nou 7.3.7, dar este Android 10, și încerc să actualizez sau poate să fac downgrade știi dacă este corect sau nu?
De fapt, nu pot vedea toate opțiunile din canbus-ul mașinii mele, cum ar fi senzorii de climatizare sau de parcare, toate originalele din fabricație.

the latest releases 7.3.7 has a newer 'can' database, and online 'can' update so it would help you
