Ignore the Android version, it's all fake. Only look at the Kernel to identify the real version of the operating system

I made a thread about my specific unit and thought I had decided mine wasn't compatible...but reading the first post, you say:

This firmware works on the following 1Gb RAM and 2 Gb RAM units with fake Android 8.1, 9.0, 9.1, 10 and Android 11 installed, with screen resolution of 1024x600 px. It will not work on Tesla-style units:

- YT9216BF | YT9216CFJ | YT9216BJ | YT9216BFJ | YT9216CJ

Mine seems to fit this criteria, but I can't find any reference to "YT" anywhere in system info or via AIDA64, but per your suggestion to others, here's the relevant information (I think) for figuring it out:

Model: D02022HA16
Device: 8227L_demo
Kernel: 4.14.116 (gcc version 6.3.1 20170404 (Linaro GCC 6.3-2017.05) )
MCU: 4.4 (X2)

It looks like the 4.14 line of kernels was used in Android 10 and 11 and so this device isn't compatible? Thanks in advance!

It's 100% safe to experiment with our firmware as long as you follow instructions, including making the proper backup

Morning community...

Just for info:

My finger in the ass was exactly this HU:

System.jpg
Android.jpg

I've been trying to flash my HU for 14 days now. Surely there were 50 attempts.
Of course I had read every post here and gone through each step several times on my HU. But without success. Well... somewhere in this thread it says that you may have to disconnect the display from the motherboard. I tried to do that yesterday. Said and done. Even so I could not flash. HU screwed together again to think, unnerved, what I could do now.

Then I had the glorious idea of checking every single plug. Here then came the realization. No matter how you connect the USB plug to the box, every USB stick is recognized and you can read it on the HU. That's exactly what's funny, but also the TRAP!!! This is exactly the reason I couldn't flash. I simply plugged in the USB plug the other way around and, what can I say, this stupid box was recognized by the PC with the power trick. Now I was able to flash the box as in the video from the 1st post. No bootloop, no white display.
The firmware could be flashed. After the first start I wanted to change the language and was shocked. I broke something during the displaytrick. I could not operate the HU on the screen. With a mouse on the USB output, I changed the language and performed a factory reset. After that everything was as it should be. All apps were installed, which are in the firmware present and my previously installed naturally gone.
However, Oreo is not displayed in the Androidsettings / System, but it stayed with Android 11.

I didn't feel like flashing the TWRP anymore because I couldn't operate the display. The HU is now in the eternal hunting grounds.

Conclusion:

  1. This motherboard can also be flashed.
  2. Try to connect the USB Plug the other way, if cour HU is not recognized.
  3. Don't do the display trick!!! At most you can (probably) remove the connection with the two cables on the mainboard, but that's it. Definitely not the thin ribbon connectors to the display if you don't know what you're doing!!!

That's it for my experiences with this box. Out of anger I ordered THIS HU (bought via Amazon, where it is cheaper) to punish myself for my stupidity....

Happy Eastern...

Unfortunately your MCU version is too high for our packages. You can of course experiment, but make sure to have your full system backup ready, should things go wrong.

"Good evening what reading 😅
An Android car radio to buy on a Chinese site 😣
In short it works not terrible I would like to change all that if it is possible to free everything and have a new Rom??!
At worst just an .apk to change the radio application which I find lame and which would work with the antenna without an internet connection.
If not to flash the rome if it were possible to do it quickly without dismantling the car radio that would be preferable thank you for answering me and congratulations for your work"

Hello, I have a prb wih my device YT9216BF (cf details in the screenshots). I can't listen the radio (with antena) and select another app (i/e using the GPS). Each time the radio is stopped, so I need to remain to the radio screen. I was not able to see where it can be fixed. Is it a standard behavior of the device? If I update my device with the new firmware, does it fix it? I would like to listen the radio and keep the main screen with the widgets. Thanks for your answers.

This isn't the right thread for you. Here we're only discussing the package attached.

    hello ExtremeMOD
I have an AC8227L YT9216 android car radio.
    black screen after fake update
the problem is that I did not make a backup of my unit
I tried to revive my post via spflashtool
I tried with several software YT9216 1G and 2G but without success the only thing that works is that the appearance of the android logo which lights up and goes out
for information the scatter and preloader are downloaded from the xda site but the progress of the download works well
I don't know how can you guide me brother ExtremeMOD
    and thank you very much

Sorry but without backup there is very little you can do. We can try repair this for you if you wish to send your unit to our workshop in the UK.

Hi all! I’m a new user here. I’ve had my head unit for a little bit now, but have been really curious about rooting etc.
I’ve done heaps of research but am honestly a bit nervous about it all.
Just really want to make sure everything is all good before I do this mod.
Attached are photos of my 2 info screens, but I have also added photos of info from DevCheck Device and System Info app.
Dunno if that helps but I thought I’d add them.
It does say it is rooted, but if I run rootcheck, it says it’s not installed correctly? Weird.
    Thanks in advance.

Your head unit isn't compatible with any of our current mods. Our current packages support MCU version 4.1 and lower. We are currently working on a new Android 8 package that'll support newer version of MCU's. Stay tuned.

Edited: My bad, I thought you meant system info in the settings, found the app though. Thanks!

    Hi all,

If you want to greatly improve the way your head unit works, sounds and looks like - you've come to the right place!

    Why install this?
With this package you will greatly improve:
    • Stability
    • Speed
    • User Interface
    • Sound tweaking options
    • Customisation options
    20210805112900.jpg 20210805091905.jpg 20210805091639.jpg 20210805091836.jpg 20210805112820.jpg

    • ON PHYSICAL BUTTONS: this software has only been tested on head units with no physical buttons (like volume) | Before making any changes, access the CAR SETTINGS -> FACTORY SETTINGS -> ENCODER SETTINGS on your head unit and take a screenshot of the current settings (see example below). After installing the package, go back to these settings and adjust them if needed. If that doesn't help and if you can't successfully re-calibrate the buttons after installing the firmware, restore your backup

      encoder settings.png

    Disclaimer
I do not create the software itself but rather use research and put together different mods and hacks into one package that includes very user-friendly step-by-step instructions on how to install it all. You will find the links to original posts in the instructions pdf's if credit is due. The software might include smaller changes made by me and has been fully tested in real units.

!! TAKE A PICTURE OF YOUR SYSTEM INFO AND KERNEL VERSION BEFORE DOING ANYTHING TO YOUR HEAD UNIT !!

    Screenshot_20181015-082542.png 20210805092140.jpg

    The zip file package contains:
    • Modified firmware - courtesy of Stranger21UFA @ 4PDA (link to the original post)
    • TWRP (separate folders for 1GB and 2GB RAM units)
    • Root via Magisk
    • Viper4Android
    • Car Launcher
    • Boot Animation
    • SEPARATE INSTRUCTIONS ARE INCLUDED IN EVERY FOLDER

    >>>> ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR UNIT BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES TO IT <<<<

    !! IMPORTANT !!

This is a fairly advanced installation process and will require you to follow the individual guides included in the software package - to the letter. Failing to do so, will (in "best" case) result in a slow and buggy head unit and in the worse case - brick it altogether.

    DOWNLOAD
    YT9216BF * YT9216CFJ * YT9216BJ * YT9216BFJ * YT9216CJ - supermod software package & drivers

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE (upgrading from working stock firmware):
    1. DO NOT SKIP ANY STEPS, AND INSTALL EVERYTHING IN THE CORRECT ORDER. STEPS 5 AND 6 ARE MOST CRITICAL.

    2. Proceed to download the software package for your unit and the drivers package in the same folder

    3. It's highly recommended to do these upgrades with your unit connected on your desktop, rather than in the car. Video Guide

    4. Install the Mediatek & ADB drivers on your Windows computer. Video Guide - use the same principle for ADB drivers.

    5. Backup your current system by exporting a full memory dump. Video Guide

    6. Import back your memory dump from step-5 to ensure it fully works. This is how.

    7. Install the package. Separate instructions are included in every folder of the downloaded zip file. Follow them by the order.

IF THIS SOFTWARE PACKAGE HAS BRICKED YOUR HEAD UNIT AND YOU HAVE YOUR BACKUP AVAILABLE, follow the steps below:
    1. DO NOT SKIP ANY STEPS, AND INSTALL EVERYTHING IN THE CORRECT ORDER.

    2. It's highly recommended to do these upgrades with your unit connected on your desktop, rather than in the car. Video Guide

    3. Install the Mediatek & ADB drivers on your Windows computer. Video Guide - use the same principle for ADB drivers - (download link is in the video description)

    4. Watch this video on Test Point recovery

    5. Import back your memory dump. This is how.

    6. If successful - try to install the software package again or stay with your original one

IF THIS SOFTWARE PACKAGE HAS BRICKED YOUR HEAD UNIT AND YOU HAVE NO BACKUP AVAILABLE, follow the steps below:
    1. Share the pictures of your System Info and Kernel in this thread and we'll try to help you

Below post is to show my respect & appreciation to iceblue1980 and in addition to share my experience that had for a few days while trying to make my unit better with above firmware.

As I downloaded firmware package, I chose not to follow his guide by letter & skip a few steps, for example & most important, not to take full back up of memory.
Then disaster followed, as I almost bricked the unit.
So I turned back to post/s to find solutions. Iceblue1980 was there, day & night responding to me & sending me several alternatives to try.
He even volunteered to fix my unit by sending it to him without any money even if he had to spend valuable time for it.
Finally, after several attempts & lots of files / firmwares / guides he sent me the gold package & we made it work !!!

I carefully followed his last guide by letter & that was it.

Now my unit is back to life & even better than ever.

This guy is awesome & I personally thank him so much.

To all members, PLS FOLLOW author's
guides BY LETTER EVERYTIME to avoid surprises !!!!
    AND
Don't forget to thank the people who are there for you day or night.
They use lot of their personal time to be there for you & that is priceless !!

    :) :) :) :)
    2
I flashed this on my YT9216BJ and everything flashed 100%, but when I went to reboot I got nothing. It looks like the unit isn't turning on at all. There is a blue LED on the board that is lit up when I connect power. Any ideas as to what went wrong?

Sorry to hear that. Please try the following steps:

    1. Completely disconnect your head unit from power, start Flash Tool as Administrator and execute the command: Format+ALL including deleting the bootloader

    2. Run the steps from "Brick Recovery" starting with Step-6.

If the above doesn't work - revert back to your original firmware by restoring your backup. Share your System Info screen found in Car Settings as well as your build.prop file and we'll have a look.

Make sure the USB cable is properly attached. The firmware update should not take more than 20 min. If it does, it indicates a bad cable/connection.
    2
View attachment 5405715my board is this where is the recovery pin ? And where I conect an antenna for wifi

These are the recovery test points:

    IMG-20210909-WA0006.jpeg

The Wifi/BT antenna mod is shown here, however I plan to post a proper guide on this particular mod in the future.
    2
The method I had to use slightly differs from everything I have read.

1.) I wired a toggle switch to my positive lead. Left it in the off position (no power to head unit)

You could share a picture of your soldered button. Some folks here might find it helpful :)

I'm thinking of making a guide going for a permanent mod, where the soldered tactile SMD button will be accessible through a small hole in the back of the head unit (similar to how you access the RESET button). That way you can use a 'needle' to short the test points, rather than picking the unit apart every time.
