I bought a ATT note 3 on ebay and unlocked it phone on Monday using unlockfusion dot net. I ordered the code Saturday night and got it on Monday morning. Not bad for $25. The Service is kinda "Iffy" though... email responses aren't the most professional, but they got the job done. Can I ask what company u use to unlock your n900a. .
I had exactly the opposite experience. The MJ5 update ran on a phone that had a bad battery and wasn't plugged in. At some point during the update the battery threw a dendrite through the insulator and shorted, turning the phone off like a forced kill. Soft brick. Used the "restore MJ5 thread, and it didn't work (about once an hour for about 2 days, trying all different sorts of things). Brought it to the local store. The rep who "got me" said that it's evidently something wrong with the phone, checked with the support center to make sure they had refurbs in stock with MJ5 on them, wrote it up as a warranty exchange and gave me directions to the DSC (which is "the other" AT&T store in this town). Once they got to me (I wasn't the only one there that day), they tried to reflash MJ5, couldn't, asked for my SD card (which they had removed and handed to me), put it into the refurb and I walked out with a working MJ5 in about 10 minutes total (plus "waiting on line" time).Lesson here is dont go to the ATT store."

I'm in the same boat. I got an AT&T N900A and it's on MJ5 running 4.3. I tried using the method in this forum but the sim unlock still pops up when I reboot the phone. request from unlockfusion last night got the code today unlock without problem . the best 25 to spend save headacheFrom oldest to newest:
... MI9 -> MJ5 <-> NB4 -> NC2 (Kitkat)
RegionUnlock tool only works on MI9 or older.
If you are on MJ5, no there is no way to go back to MI9 or older.
There is no way to unlock for free with this tool. Stop wasting your time.
I got mine unlocked through AT&T after several attempts. My HTC One was unlocked but after several replacements they sent me Note 3. I had to argue that the phone I returned was a unlocked phone, so this Note3 should also be unlocked. They escalated the case and after a week or so I got my unlock code.
Seriously, this forum needs some kind of a wiki page on beginning of the thread so that anyone can edit vital information. Otherwise OP it's all up to OP to update his post with these info.
You sure? i was able to make nb4 work on a note 3. its a tmobile note 3 though so that may be what made it work. From oldest to newest:

Probably why. This is At&t Note3 forum so, no it won't work. I tried and wasted so much time trying to unlock my device for free. Basically boils down to conclusion that At&t note3 sucks because bootloader is locked. You sure? i was able to make nb4 work on a note 3. its a tmobile note 3 though so that may be what made it work.
2 phone calls into at&t customer service and they emailed me both unlock codes for both my note 3s within 48 hours.Probably why. This is At&t Note3 forum so, no it won't work. Were you off contact? I've gotten codes every time I'm off contact, but never when still in contact.2 phone calls into at&t customer service and they emailed me both unlock codes for both my note 3s within 48 hours.
Hello, I rooted my TMobile Note 3 using the Chainfire auto root method. It was successful. I want to network unlock so I can use it with AT&T. I installed the region lock away app, run it, but still get invalid sim card. Did I miss something?I bought two At&t Note 3s yesterday. One for me and one for a friend. I'm on At&t and my friend is on MetroPCS. I called At&t for an unlock and they couldnt get me a code, even though one was paid in full price and "qualified" to get unlocked according to them. So this is how I got the phones unlocked.

Root is Required!
1. To root your At&t Note 3 follow this guide (Thank You designgears!)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2474422
2. You will need to allow unknown sources to be installed.
Settings>General>Security>Unknown Sources (Make sure its checked)
3. Install Chainfire's RegionLock Away App from Google Play Store (and buy him a beer :highfiveor download it from here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470551
4. Tap "Region Unlock" in the app
5. Let it do its thing
6. Choose Reboot Later (Thats what I did at least)
7. Turn off the phone and try a non-At&t sim card.
I tried my old T-mobile sim in mine and it pulled up, and we just got back from the MetroPCS store and have his running on that.
