Unlocked mine for $25

Can I ask what company u use to unlock your n900a. .
I bought a ATT note 3 on ebay and unlocked it phone on Monday using unlockfusion dot net. I ordered the code Saturday night and got it on Monday morning. Not bad for $25. The Service is kinda "Iffy" though... email responses aren't the most professional, but they got the job done.

Whats funny is you guys think the ATT Store is there to help you. Its just another place that wants to make money. Unlock codes dont make them money.

Heres my story: "I had an upgrade and first called ATT 611, tried to get my upgrade - fail. They said they couldnt do it without removing my unlimited data. So I tried online - failed wouldnt let me upgrade without again changing my plan. went into the ATT Store, back when the Galaxy S4 just came out. I have had LTE on my account since the skyrocket came out. But when I went in to upgrade, they told me I could but I would have to buy some kind of wireless home router to get LTE at home. (im not kidding.) I looked at him with a straight face and told him to get his manager. Well the manager repeated the same garbage. Said thanks for nothing and walked out the door. Went to costco, and 30min later I was home with a new Galaxy s4. no access point, no extra plans or shannagains. and I still have my unlimited data. Lesson here is dont go to the ATT store."

I have 2 lines on my account, unlimited data / text, and 450 anytime min. / rollover / unlimited night / weekends. I had the 700 min anytime but I was collecting over 5000 rollover min. Now the max I have ever had is about 1500. I got the 450min by calling 611 and asked to speak to RETENTION'S. If your contact is close or up call up and ask for as much as you can get away with. They do not advertise any of these "plans" and say they dont exist but Retention's can make them happen.

I had exactly the opposite experience. The MJ5 update ran on a phone that had a bad battery and wasn't plugged in. At some point during the update the battery threw a dendrite through the insulator and shorted, turning the phone off like a forced kill. Soft brick. Used the "restore MJ5 thread, and it didn't work (about once an hour for about 2 days, trying all different sorts of things). Brought it to the local store. The rep who "got me" said that it's evidently something wrong with the phone, checked with the support center to make sure they had refurbs in stock with MJ5 on them, wrote it up as a warranty exchange and gave me directions to the DSC (which is "the other" AT&T store in this town). Once they got to me (I wasn't the only one there that day), they tried to reflash MJ5, couldn't, asked for my SD card (which they had removed and handed to me), put it into the refurb and I walked out with a working MJ5 in about 10 minutes total (plus "waiting on line" time).

I guess the lesson here is that, like every other company, some of their stores are run right and some aren't. I've been in both stores at least a few times. Some of the salesdroids wouldn't qualify as dead matter, some of them are glad they could get paid for doing their hobby - helping people. I see the same thing in Target, Walmart, K-Mart - any retail establishment. It's not AT&T, it's human beings. We need a dev to work on making a better model.

can mj5 4.3 sim unlock? i brought att phone with mj5 and 4.3
Same! I got an AT&T N900A and it's on MJ5 running 4.3. I'm trying to find out a "free" way to do a sim unlock so that i can use my T-mobile SIM card. Can anyone confirm whether or not this is possible, and if so, point me in the right direction?

thanks!

I'm in the same boat. I got an AT&T N900A and it's on MJ5 running 4.3. I tried using the method in this forum but the sim unlock still pops up when I reboot the phone. Any free methods that work?

Good work! I'm excited to give this a shot. I'll report back when I've tested this method later today.

From oldest to newest:
... MI9 -> MJ5 <-> NB4 -> NC2 (Kitkat)
RegionUnlock tool only works on MI9 or older.

If you are on MJ5, no there is no way to go back to MI9 or older.
There is no way to unlock for free with this tool. Stop wasting your time.

I got mine unlocked through AT&T after several attempts. My HTC One was unlocked but after several replacements they sent me Note 3. I had to argue that the phone I returned was a unlocked phone, so this Note3 should also be unlocked. They escalated the case and after a week or so I got my unlock code.

Seriously, this forum needs some kind of a wiki page on beginning of the thread so that anyone can edit vital information. Otherwise OP it's all up to OP to update his post with these info.

Probably why. This is At&t Note3 forum so, no it won't work. I tried and wasted so much time trying to unlock my device for free. Basically boils down to conclusion that At&t note3 sucks because bootloader is locked.

Rooted and Region Unlock didnt work

I bought two At&t Note 3s yesterday. One for me and one for a friend. I'm on At&t and my friend is on MetroPCS. I called At&t for an unlock and they couldnt get me a code, even though one was paid in full price and "qualified" to get unlocked according to them. So this is how I got the phones unlocked.

Reminder: I'm not responsible for any damage you may do to your phone. Proceed at your own risk!

Root is Required!

1. To root your At&t Note 3 follow this guide (Thank You designgears!)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2474422

2. You will need to allow unknown sources to be installed.
Settings>General>Security>Unknown Sources (Make sure its checked)

3. Install Chainfire's RegionLock Away App from Google Play Store (and buy him a beer :highfive:) or download it from here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470551

4. Tap "Region Unlock" in the app

5. Let it do its thing

6. Choose Reboot Later (Thats what I did at least)

7. Turn off the phone and try a non-At&t sim card.

I tried my old T-mobile sim in mine and it pulled up, and we just got back from the MetroPCS store and have his running on that.
Hello, I rooted my TMobile Note 3 using the Chainfire auto root method. It was successful. I want to network unlock so I can use it with AT&T. I installed the region lock away app, run it, but still get invalid sim card. Did I miss something?

no you must be on kitkat wich is not compatable. you will either have to pay for the unlock code or ask tmobile. though tmobile has certain hoops you have to jump through. also unless its just me i get crappy signal on att with my tmobile note3. especially if i use my sview cover. i went to att to save some money and get better coverage and even though they have signal in most places tmobile dont if i dont have a full signal my data is so slow its unbarable to even use..just my 2 cents
