1. Download and flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2722816 (check wipe everything)
2. Flash this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2620794
3. Flash SuperSU in recovery
4. Boot phone and enable USB debugging + unknown sources
5. Open Backup TA on your computer and restore your TA backup.
6. Flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2722816 again (check wipe everything)
7. Should be done, stock rom + bootloader locked (see 'Questions' how to check) + no root
Thank you so much for this!! Very easy to follow. Everything back to normal and ready to send back to Sony.

There was a contradiction between the video and the audio and the overlaid instructions
at 4:28 the C6903 file downloaded from the link from video did not have any entries whatsoever in Wipe window so I could not untick anything, flashed it anyway.
at 2:26 the caption says z1c 44 uk flashable but on the screen you can see z1c 44-14....757 uk flashablezip. being copied to the sd card. I had a copy of 757 from somewhere else so I flashed that not z1c44 uk.
Does it matter which flashable zip you flash at all?

I followed the instructions closely and everything worked perfect for me. On cm11 now. Just did it last night. Followed a YouTube video as well.

The rooting method described on the first post does not unlock the bootloader. That's the whole point.

You should be using the latest version (currently v6). It never throws the message you're describing so you are doing something wrong. Phone needs to be booted normally and then just run the tool.

make it rain

In step 14 I get stuck on message 'Check your phone and click "make it rain" waiting for towelroot to exploit....

How I suppose to do that without the screen on? I'm doing something wrong?

Help please!!

Unlock the screen.
My question is based on premise of step 13:

13 Start your phone normally and plug in your USB cable (screen will be black, this is normal and it will stay like that until you finish step 16)

The screen can be unlocked! Thank you anyway, at least you took the time to respond and mock me! :p

Huh. That is an old method. Don't mix these methods. Just use the one linked in the first post to root.

Oh ok, you mean the first method, sorry! It didn´t work for me, so I try the older one. I already root the phone and updated with KK. Thanks for the replys!

Stupid question now but: How do I get my Z1C completely back to a "like out of the package" state so I can send it in for warranty?

Story: I made some underwater photos/videos and on the 3rd day of doing so (never had it more than 30 minutes or 1,5 meters under water) water leaked into the phone somehow, not trough the lids, checked them many times AND also checked them if they are wet after I saw the issue, they werent leaking.

Anyways, as said, I want to completely go back to the beginning like taking the phone out of the box. Now, how do I do that? What are the steps for this? Do I have to flash the stock ROM first? If so how exactly? Because as I think restoring the TA Backup first won't let me flash anything else anymore because of the locked Bootloader.

Thanks many times for replies already! :D
(Also if possible please really make an easy step by step instruction, it not only will help me but also future guys having the same problem :) )

PS (Edit).: The phone still fully works, but one part of the Touchscreen doesn't anymore. I can still use an USB mouse tho, no problem there!

1. Flash stock firmware you used for TA backup and root it (e.g. if you used Jelly Bean to take TA backup, flash Jelly Bean)
2. Restore TA backup with Backup TA (this will also relock your bootloader)
3. Flash stock firmware (preferably from your original cust# but it's not so important) and check wipe everything

Is there any way to verify what version I used for the TA backup? I mean I'm 99% sure which one I used, sure the latest one, yet I just wanna be 100% sure to not buck things up ;)
