This tutorial ill explain how we achieved to bootloader unlock P20 pro demo unit.

Some of you might had issues so let's get to it.

1.
Make sure to have fastboot drivers installed and fastboot itself.

2.
Enable oem unlock in developer settings.

3.
Visit http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin/unlock/index

Agree and continue to next page.

4.
Select SINCE EMUI 5.0
And enter your device model

Example CLT-L29 you'll find your exact model in settings > system > about phone

5. Reboot to bootloader and execute
fastboot oem get-psid

You'll see something similar to
SN:XXXX
IMEI:XXXX
MEID:XXXX

Copy serial and IMEI and paste it in the correct fields just make sure to delete SN: if it gets included in your copy.

Next reboot to system and open dialer and enter:

*#*#1357946#*#*

It will give you your product Id which you will need to enter in the field.

Once done. Just complete the verification code and submit. You'll get your unlock code and hopefully the correct one.

I'll be following the unlocking and rooting of this phone; tempted to get an unlocked international one for use in the usa.

Help?

Hey, I've bought the normal P20 on launch date from my local carrier (SFR) in France. There's no France option to make an account on emui.huawei.com. Is there no other way to unlock my bootloader and root my device? Also, If I do end up unlocking my bootloader, will it factory reset my device? Thanks in advance :)

You can choose "guadeloupe" for the choice of country. It's same technical preference of France
