on step number 9, do we need to change the CID and MID or just flash the Nougat Unlocked RUU (zip or exe)?

No sim - wifi error

Hi all !

I went through convert process with this tutorial and now Im on:

hiaeul
S-OFF
CRADIO: [email protected]

(bootloader) kernel: lk
(bootloader) product: htc_hiaeul
(bootloader) version: 1.0
(bootloader) max-download-size: 1164800000
(bootloader) serialno: HT69ASZ02702
(bootloader) slot-count: 0
(bootloader) current-slot:
(bootloader) imei: 99000
(bootloader) version-main: 2.18.617.30 (GSM USA UNLOCKED, same thing with Lineageos)
(bootloader) boot-mode: download
(bootloader) version-baseband: [email protected]
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.0.0.0000
(bootloader) mid: 2PQ912000
(bootloader) cid: 11111111

Trouble is that phone not recognize SIM or recognize but doesent find networks, WIFI cant be turned ON at all (under a WIFI symbol simple says Error), Bluetooth works. What did I miss or mess with it ?!
EDIT: wifi was working for sure before on versions 1.xxxx while I was flashing and upgrading further, for sim not sure, last test was after sprint unlock

EDIT
started from beginning with "radio and etc partitions backup" tutorial and all work great now !

after several attemps, I still got 2G only
I have the same problem.

I have LineageOS running and everything is working except I'm limited to 2G (signal icon says "E").

I'm on T-Mobile and I made sure to set my APN.

Any help?

EDIT: I briefly saw it jump to H+ before tumbling back down to E. It's possible that my work has a weak enough signal that it causes issues. Although my Moto e4 was getting LTE no problem

EDIT 2: Even outside my work building, it gets 2G only.

Help needed......

I am trying to go thru the motions to start this, but am getting quickly stopped out when trying to use the Basic Flasher.

1) Dial ##3424# then choose DM ON , I get prompted with the MSL.
2) Once I load the Basic Flasher, it comes up with a .NET Framwork window, so I decided to Update but to my dismay I am still having the same issue.
Beside the Scan button that would list the ports, it's completely blank. All of my drivers are working because I have Unlocked, Rooted and S-Off'd with the
Command windows just fine. When I hit connect it tells me to "Please Scan Ports", and when I do that it says "No Devices Found".

Has anyone come across this issue, and how does one fix it? I might be new into the world of unlocking and modding phones, although my last ATT HTC One A9 was a breeze to unlock
and convert to the Unlocked/DEV version...had it not dropped into a bucket of water while washing my car some months ago, I would still be happily using it.

I don't know if anyone has a video or is willing to help me out with this issue, I am just trying to get the phone unlocked so I can use it with my local carrier in Canada.

Any Help and/or direction would be MUCH appreciated.

Is someone able to help me out here.....I've done everything successfully, EXCEPT

My phone cannot connect to my Network, RUU is rock solid without any stability issues minus the fact it can't connect to the Network (Voice/Data).

I am not prompted with any strange "SIM LOCKED" alerts or anything, has anyone else come across this issue?
Had I known this phone would have posed such a ball-ache, I would have just purchased another ATT/GSM variant which took no time to get up and running.

I am very politely asking for some help and willing to donate some $$$ for someone's help and guidance here.....

Thanks in advance!

There is much confusion regarding whether it is possible to successfully convert Boost Mobile/Sprint HTC One A9 to Unlocked/Developer version.

Many have tried before by changing the MID and CID and flashing the Unlocked/Developer RUU but have had issues with missing IMEI, random reboots, and general instability.

I can confirm that is is actually possible to do the conversion and also fix the missing IMEI/random reboots.

Prerequisites:
S-OFF
Bootloader unlocked
Sim Unlocked (See my post here for free sim unlock method)

What this fixes:
No mobile data (but have voice/sms) on sprint firmware after sim unlock
Missing IMEI/random reboots after Unlocked RUU flash

My device specs:
(bootloader) kernel: lk
(bootloader) product: htc_hiaeul (was previously htc_hiaewhl before conversion)
(bootloader) version: 1.0
(bootloader) max-download-size: 1164800000
(bootloader) slot-count: 0
(bootloader) current-slot:
(bootloader) version-main: 2.18.617.1
(bootloader) boot-mode: download
(bootloader) version-baseband: [email protected] (Sprint radio)
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.0.0.0000
(bootloader) mid: 2PQ912000
(bootloader) cid: 11111111

1) Follow this guide here. I flashed the updated Unlocked 2.18.617.1 RUU from here instead of the older RUU linked in the post. The RUU version should not make a significant difference.

2) After the RUU is flashed, the device will reboot. It is optional to wait for the device to finish the initial boot. The device will not be in a usable state as the IMEI will be missing, radio won't work, and have some other critical bugs.

3) Reboot the device into bootloader mode (not download mode!).

4) Download the Sprint radio here (extracted from 1.60.651.4 RUU)

5) Extract radio.img and run
Code:
fastboot flash radio radio.img
6) reboot the device. Your sprint/boost mobile a9 should now be working on T-mobile or your GSM carrier. If your carrier bands are supported, you should also be getting 4G.

You may also be able to flash CM14 on your converted a9, but I have not tried it yet.

Have a happy new year!

Have you set the APN? (I know, dumb question)

This method with ONLY YOUR radio, modem etc backup and later reflash back works only:

Kiki.G, I finally got it working last night with flashing all of the Files that were posted in the bottom of that article.
The only issue I seem to have is when I reboot the phone, I have to go into Settings>Networks to sign onto my Carrier....and
that takes quite a bit of time. Other than that, phone functions normally and glad to be rid of any attachments with Sprint/Boost.

I did have to get someone else to perform the SIM Unlock, because I couldn't get it working.

Unfortunately, I have already done the conversion to the Unlocked/DEV Firmware....so I can't go back and Flash the Sprint RUU and get a
copy of my Radio.

I have another device I need to perform the same Surgery on, so perhaps you could help me with the SIM Unlock and then I would follow this protocol of
backing of the files from my own device.

Glad you succeed, I probably roll back everything three times until I done it right. Now it works great without any Issues on stock, unfortunately not so on LineageOs.
