I would like to use stock 5.1 with f2fs and franco kernel. What's my best bet here?

Flash 5.1 factory image, root it and instal twrp, then change cache and data to f2fs and flash franco kernel.

Devs of custom ROMs for my device Asus TF700t say that there are no performance benefits of converting to f2fs for system and cache. Who do I trust? Can somebody point arguments in favor of converting those partitions?
