For anyone having trouble of their PC don't recognize Razer phone in download mode, stuck on waiting for device. I found a workaround on my Windows 10 PC that might help.

Using a different version of Minimal ADB and fastboot installer here:

Connect your phone in download mode to the PC and install the Google USB driver via update drive in Device Manager.
https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb.html

My PC was able to recognize the phone in download mode, then was able successfully unlocked the bootloader.

Anyone have trouble using their hotspot with Three UK on 8.1 after debranding?

Mine turns on, connects up fine, but can't get internet access on the connected device.

I flashed Go unbranded MR3, then upgraded OTA to 8.1.

Locked bootloader, all stock

My debranded phone works fine on O2 network using hotspot. I debranded with MR1 image, then OTA to MR3 then Oreo. Did a factory reset before setup the phone with my Google account.

Could it be something wrong with the device you are trying to connect to? Do you have another device you can try connect with hotspot and see if it works?

It's definitely the Razer phone software or network settings. I put my SIM in another phone and can hotspot from that phone, connected loads of different devices to both. Works fine on the other phone, but not on the Razer anymore.

According to Three UK support twitter the 8.1 Three branded update is rolling out over the next few days, so I will just live without hotspot for now and re-brand when I can get the files .

The update release has been confirmed to a few people asking about it on twitter so I'm hopeful!

Sounds good. I have the same issue but now I have the device set up I might just wait for the 3 update. If it is late I will try your trick.

Just followed thread and got it all done with a bit of experimenting. All debranded and got updates.

QQ, If I debrand it, does it lose the Warranty? If so, is it like a jailbreak so you can "wipe it" to get it back?

Technically, yes you lost warranty. but if anything comes up just flash the branded rom and relock and they won't be able to tell just never mention what you did.

ok, trying to rebrand to sell the phone and having major issue. The sim isnt recognised. flashed 3 times still same issue. Any idea? No errors reported, flashing went smoothly. From stock Razer oreo to 3 Network Nougat.

Hi guys!
So, I succsesfully managed to unlock the bootloader and that was it. I cannot unlock critical's, or even flash new system.
The phone enters in download mode, and after a few seconds it dissapears.
I am using ubuntu PC, and when I try to do anything in the terminal it says " Waiting for any device''
The phone just sits stuck at razer logo (not showing download mode on the top left corner as it shoud be), and after that I need to restart it (holding both volume keys + power button).
I've tryed changing usb ports, usb cables and it stays with the same issue.
Any Ideas will come in handy

You should try using another computer.

Follow this guide to install the driver: https://s3.amazonaws.com/cheryl-fac...stall_Android_Fastboot_Drivers_on_Windows.pdf

Then follow the guide on the first page to install the new firmware.

I had trouble using my desktop, it wouldn't let me unlock the critical partitions.
After reinstalling the drivers on another computer, it worked.
