[GUIDE - DEV + MOD] How to add ability to disable HTC Lock ring

Great feature. Thx a lot. When i saw this i thought it will be nice for s2w. The only thing we need is disable wake on power button. Is there any way to make power button work only on long press to show power menu and on short press do nothing?

This mod allows to disable htc ring only pressing NONE in settings, and it doesnt mean that if you choose other lock screens it will also disabled. When you didnt have that none and ring options the way you are talking about was as well.. it relates to htc sense not to the mod.

You dont need revert anything because it is only one single option in the settings, if you revert it you also will have the same situation with pattern screen lock..

so if you dont like it just put settings.apk from your rom which you are using

I was expecting that lock ring will be also disabled upon choosing other screen lock , I hope you can make that possible too:fingers-crossed:

Nice mod, but are there any drawbacks? In older similar mods there were issues I don't remember now but likely related to notifications of missed calls...

its not a similar mod - the mod your talking about was AOSP lockscreen. This is only an xml change so it shouldnt break anything

Ok ill give it a try, but with this mode can I disable the htc lock ring while leaving the standard android pattern lock on?

Ok, so basically there is no way on a sense ROM to enable standard pattern lock only

Just want to chip in: For users of GO Launcher EX there is a workaround possible (and maybe even without it, did not try) :

1. Install the patch and disable all lockscreens
2. Install GO Locker and use the pattern (or PIN) Lockscreen. Looks very similar to the SENSE thingy...

If you are not comfortable fiddling around with settings.apk, you might want to try "No Lock" from play store, might help as well.

That mod adds one more option to settings you can choose none which disables the ring and HTC ring which enables the ring back.
You will lost any HTC ring feature if u disable it .

A differentiate them because they have their own tweaks section. Like in viper there is venom tweaks section, in insert coin their tweaks.
