I used the build prop trick because it allows me to use everything such as s voice and download apps from the samsung store that's not available with just the gear manager app. I know it was a dumb mistake to change it since there is no recovery available yet. It worked fine for about an hour. I downloaded several apps for the neo just fine. Its when I changed a setting in xposed that needed a reboot to go into effect when everything went bad. I followed the steps here in the op to a tee and kept getting the red failed message after pressing the arrow. Didn't understand why till I read the error and it says wrong device. And that's when it clicked. Being stupid and impatient now I'm stuck with a bricked device. I don't think adb will work since it won't recognize it being Lg. Oh well thanks for you guys help. Luckily I'm still under warranty and have insurance. Do you think I will have issues with sprint since having it being rooted and change the build prop?

I doubt you will have any issue, they will just get you a replacement and send yours back to Sprint.

There may be a way to force the LG Flash Tool to flash the selected firmware even though the build.prop device name doesn't match. I'm going to check that out when I get home

I found something that might work but I don't know.

I read from a few posts that if you need to use a universal DLL file in the LG Flash Tool instead of the Sprint version. I found one but I believe it is for the G2

autoprime has a generic in his codefire dl folder. I'll see if I can find the link.

OK cool I'll change the last bit in the guide so it's not so convoluted

I linked the Generic DLL in the downloads section (with a big thank you to Engine and AP) with an explanation of who should use it

I'll change the last bit of the guide after the gym!

Glad you got your phone back @treezy26

When miniOs opens, its says something like "auto something do not touch screen" You have to press ok then it does a test for about 5sec. Then you press power+normal to reboot.

@treezy26 so when your phone rebooted into the AAT screen you pressed OK while holding the power button, then selected the "normal boot (+power)" option?
Looks like someone beat me to it. But yeah thats all I did.

Just want to say thanks to everyone who took the time to help me in my time of need. I really appreciate it. Let this be a warning, if you think it will brick your device, dont do it until a recovery is available. I learned the hard way.

I failed to change action mode for 6 hours the other day when I softbricked. "factory reset status 2" blue screen when you dont change action mode. Seems as though lots of folks are doing this and dont know. Excellent guide.

hic use DLL LGUP_8974 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54186597&postcount=102

flashtool flash 9% erro ===> phone Stuck fastboot mode :(
Did the LG Flash Tool display any error? I'm on my phone but I did a quick search looks like the flash was possibly interrupted.

Go into Device Manager on Windows and see if The LGE Mobile USB Modem is there. If so turn it off.

Then see if you have a different USB cable, one that is very reliable.

Try to flash again after those changes and try not to move the phone and/or computer while it's flashing
