As it was me who started this thread, I must warn you that reverting to nougat from rooted devices it may be risky. I don't know what happens when going from unlocked to locked bootloader.
It may result in bricked device, it may relock bootloader and work fine, or, who knows, it May restore also the DRM keys, if TA partition is part of the bootloader. But Munjeni thinks that the TA is on the begining of the emmc memory, and also I think the same.
In conclusion reverting is risky and you do it on your risk.

if the bootloader is locked everything went fine but i do a downgrade and the bootloader still unlocked so i dont think that works
as I remember flashing a firmware automatically relocks your bootloader, thats how it was in my z2 and z5 compact
I dont know if that works in oreo case, relocking the bootloader after unlocking isnt the real issue though, the real issue is the DRM keys, even after relocking they wont come back, so its really a waste to relock, once unlocked always unlocked. otherwise you will get a relocked bootloader without a working camera which is really not worth it so once youre rooted its best you stay on your DRM fix as thats the only thing you can do to let camera work again.
that or AOSP which has a worse camera than stock, unless you use snappatch I heard that thing has really GoOooD features

@Inerent, just checking, the fw version you downgraded from to nougat - was it that you downgraded from 47.1.A.12.179 to 45.0.A.5.1?
Or did you hove something older there before the downgrade?
And the bootloader was downgraded from LA1.1_O_79 to LA1.1_N_59-D?
Just want to be 100% sure about the versions before the downgrade, thanks.

Yes, I was on 47.1.A.12.179 and downgraded to 45.0.A.5.1. Also bootloader was downgraded from LA1.1_O_79 to LA1.1_N_59-D. Those 2 photos are screen capture before and after.
Keep mind my phone is XZP and I still have locked bootloader. Good luck! ??

Hello,
If you want to downgrade from Oreo to Nougat and also downgrade the Bootloader, just follow this simple tutorial:
1. Download your firmware (based to your carrier/region and firmware number that you wish) from here: https://www.xperiasite.pl/forum/395...rt_by=Z-A&sort_key=start_date&topicfilter=all
2. Unzip the firmware file, then go inside the folder and unzip the partition.zip file. Very important: The files that you unzipped from the partition.zip must be extracted in a folder named partition Try to avoid having firmware folder/partition/partition/files. You should have firmware folder/partition/files. Usually the unzip or unrar program creates this folder for you if you extract to folder, but some programs are creating folder/folder/files
3. Download Newflasher made by Munjeni: https://dl.xda-developers.com/4/4/7....rar?key=rdp_fMdVKfIo1hu_TSW6IA&ts=1523467912
4. Unzip the file, then copy newflasher.exe into the folder where is your unzipped firmware
5. Install Adb drivers, this can be done by installing Xperia Companion. You can download it here: http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/Software Downloads/Xperia Companion/XperiaCompanion.exe
6. Power off your phone.
7. Connect the phone to the USB cable while holding volume down key for 3 seconds. Windows should pop up to install the adb driver. Wait until the install is finnished corectly.
8. Run newflasher.exe and follow on screen messages. If I remember first 2 you have to type N (no)
9. Wait until it says to disconnect (about 20 minutes on my pc)
10. Power on your phone. :good::fingers-crossed:
You will have your locked bootloader and warranty:cowboy::cyclops:

flash using flashtool

Hello, I want to put Nougat on my XZ Premium G8142 looks like service exchange unit in xperifirm is the Nougat firmware (45.0.A.1.229). Can I flash this using flashtool?
I currently have Pie on my XZ Premium and its bad! the phone lags and battery backup is not up to the mark. I never had any performance problems on Nougat.
So is a downgrade possible? Doing this won't brick my device? right?
Also, I want to know what is the service exchange unit? will I lose any functionality?
