you say not to put any .TA extension into the firmware content.
I do not know what the explanation, what I have to do?

Hi there - I have a branded Xperia SP (C5302) bought few days back. The customization version is shown as 1271-9664 which isn't listed. Is there an 'official' source for these? I tried asking Sony live-chat about phone updates, but as expected they were fairly unhelpful

hi i am uploading a file on mega, i got a root sgp311 16gb, version country i don't know, in property i got : 10.4.1.B.0.109 , the update fule i downloaded i hope it is kikat i don't know how to verify it, please can a Master sony member put one eye or 2 eyes on it and eventually explain me how to root that ? ^^ i remenber i got a lot of pain into my ass to root this tab, so i am scared to lose it ^^

There was never a stock firmware for the L50U model (Z2 LTE China Unicom) which contains Google play, but is it possible to take an FTF file from the D6503 take it to pieces and get the FILE_xxxx files and then build a new FTF for the L50U model?

Or can I get these files from another forum member with a D6503 and ask them to follow your guide as far as getting these files for 17.1.1.A.0.402 and then post them for me, and then I rebuild them with Flashtool following your guide but specifying the correct model as L50U?

I have been able to flash the D6503 version of 17.1.1.A.0.402 onto my L50U but the GSM/UMTS/LTE transceiver doesn't function and it complains about non-existent covers being open.

or will I have to revert to the Chinese government censored version of firmware which can't install Google Play and the only apps I can get are in Chinese which I cant read?

I unlocked my bootloader without saving the TA partition and now I cannot update OTA. If you haven't unlocked the bootloader then you should not have a problem AFAIK.

You're right!
When restoring with PC Companion, you can disconnect your phone during the download.
The downloaded files will be in 'C:\ProgramData\Sony Ericsson\Update Engine\db\13740270\blob_fs'.
The only thing I'm not sure of, is if PC Companion also downloads the full image when updating?
I will download my next update with PC Companion. If the files are the same as with Sony Update Service, then I will update this guide.

I am trying to change the customisation number but everytime I reboot after saving it it's the same as it was before again.
It doesn't seem to save my changes. I want to change it to 1281-2668. I allready tried using R1A and R7A.
