Hi i have same problem :( Did you fix it somehow?
I had the same problem, and managed to solve it:
1. Get flashtool from flashtool.net/downloads.php, install(if needed, dunnno, I'm using Linux), run it
2. Click on XF button
3. Find Xperia Z, or whatever model you have
4. Select proper model(mine was C6603, look at bottom of your phone)
5. Select Central Europe/Customized
6. Click button under your phone to start download, and wait till it finishes
7. Close download/software windows, wait as flashtool does some stuff
8. when ready click lightning icon
9. Select downloaded firmware
10. Highlight system from content(this may not do anything, but I did it and it kept all my data)
11. Click flash and wait, when the progress bar is near the end it may seem frozen, just wait a bit more, don't unplug anything.
12. when flashtool says it's done, unplug the phone and boot it

Hope it helps. Also, thanks for letting me know that this app is not working

Rooting wiht KingsRoot worked. But After updating the SuperSu binarys i taped on "reboot" and got stuck in ta bootloop wich said "optimizing apps" for 3 hours. So I hard reseted using the power+volume button and booted again, this time after optimizing it was stuck in the purple bootanimation... pls help. got a locked bootloader

Did this. For some reason I decided to try first with Kingroot 4.5. Worked like a charm. Just had to manually remove the Kingroot icon and some residual files. IIRC I have tried this once before, ending up with a bootlooping Z. I think the newer (than 4.5) Kingroots have some nasty traps built in and that's the reason. No problems this time. Now just back up the TA, install recovery and some quality time with roms...

So, in a nutshell:

Device: C6603
Android version: 5.1.1 10.7.A.0.228
Kingroot 4.5 (see 1st post, downloaded apk using that link)
Super SuMe (apk from 1st post)
Proceeded as advised
Removed trash manually
All is well.
i have the same android version, tried many times kingroot 4.5/4.6, flashef stock ftf, but no success. how do you do the rooting process?

Okay
so everything worked and then I have the same issues : Reboot loop.
I don't understand, I turn it off by force, and then it's the optimization of the app loading screen (it say 279app, the next time 235, then 279, then 233 etc everytime I restart it it change), everything is good, and then it stuck on the "launching of the app" loading screen.
But I don't understand, my phone vibrate when I receive a text ! What the hell !! Why won't the damn loading screen just disappear ! Please, help !
EDIT: It turned off by itself and then got stuck on the purple starting screen (you know with the wave), and so I forced to shut down again and now here we are back at the start with the same problem.
I beg of you, please help...

Hi folks,
Just wanna kindly ask if the Author still follows the thread? See some number of issues popped up in latest posts, so I am wondering if this method is still safe/recommended considering time gone by. Cheers

So, download source is kingoapp.com, android version? Also, should I use supersu file provided here or to download (udated, I suppose) version from Playstore? Finally, I do not want to flash any custom ROM for now (running 5.1.1), so I don't need recovery then, right? Thank you

yes, kingoapp.com. you need recovery to flash supersu zip for replace kingoroot root binary, or use super-sume(which is don't work for me but others use it daily)

On step 6 after (successfully) binary update my phone rebooted.

But, It bootlooped, then restarted and normally launches (but it takes about 10 minutes).
Is that normal?

Edit: After wave animation I've got a black screen and I can only turn off my phone, reboot etc.
Even in safe mode

(Yea, my english isn't perfect, I know...)

Justin14p, i get the same trying to do this yesterday.
everything work fine and i get the root access. but once i restart the phone, the problem come.

apparently, all the apps, camera and even display doesn't work. i can only see the shut down and restart after pressing the power button. i have to repair it using Xperia Companion and the root access and the files are gone. now doing the second attempt.

Um... I forgot about Xperia Companion, thanks for reminding me that :D

Edit: Um... "unlock your screen"

So I flashed my phone back to nonrooted, noncustom firmware

Just stop at step 3 (don't install supersume), and use only Kingroot
