Follow what he did on the phone screen for those steps
1. Download update & store in root folderHey dudes.
When you update OS, would you just uninstall magisk completely?
Cause the option with just restoring Stock boot image will not work cause there is no backup.
I am on 11.0.8.8. IN11AA and want to upgrade to 11.0.9.9. Downloaded update via oxygen update, uninstall magisk completely, wanted to do local system update... Get error. Downloaded update several times, always error.
Seems i am stuck on 11.0.8.8?
Any idea?
Thanks mate.1. Download update & store in root folder
2. Open Magisk -> Uninstall Magisk ->Restore Images (DO NOT REBOOT)
3. Go to Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Local Upgrade and Upgrade (DO NOT REBOOT)
4. Go to Magisk -> Install -> Install to Inactive Slot
5. Reboot
You should be good to go.
Download full update from here and update locally:

[OnePlus 8 Pro][ROM][OTA][Oxygen OS] Repo of Oxygen OS Builds
As OnePlus doesn't always provide download links for all of their OxygenOS ROMs & OTA update zips, we've created an index to put the links in one post so that they're easy to find. Note: This is not a support thread for issues you may have with...forum.xda-developers.com
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot boot lineage-18.1-20210606-recovery-instantnoodlep.img
adb sideload Magisk-v23.0.zip
Yes, you will get OTA updates. If you want to accept them and still retain root, you'll need to uninstall Magisk and "Restore the boot images" so the phone will accept the OTA update. You then install the update from System Update in Settings, BUT DO NOT REBOOT!!!! Navigate back to the Magisk Manager app and click on "Install" for Magisk. You'll want the option that says, "Install to Inactive Slot (After OTA.)" After that installation finishes, you can safely reboot the OS update installed and rooted.Wow! This is just awesome!! What will be the downside of a rooted device though? Will I still get OTA update?
Thanks for the info bc1977, I'll add that as a prerequisite@mahendral
Super guide!
Got my OP8 Pro yesterday, less than one hour after unboxing, it was rooted
Why so long?
Because i had to update to OOS 11 (OOS 10 out of the box).
If you try your method with OOS 10, you get stuck at this step:
Boot in to lineage recovery temporarily
==> Stuck at Fastboot logo
Hence i updated to OOS 11 OB and it worked like a charm!
Thanks a lot![]()
I just googled the file name and found a mirror with new images. Google is your friend, as they say.The lineage-18.1-20210606-recovery-instantnoodlep.img is no longer available though. Help
