Thank you so much for your guide and software bundle.
I even had to make a EDL cable to restore my device.

After flashing, I do not see vendor as a partition but looks like it is a folder. Is it OK for future ROMs ?
No, the EDL packages here return your device to stock firmware. After you recover your device, then you can just follow the Guide to prepare your device for treble ROMs. I am not providing yet Treble ROMs in that guide because they still have some bugs. For instance, the latest iteration from NFound (HavocOS and AEX 5.8) have problems receiving calls.

hmmm.... interesting...
Is your device unlocked? are the other options not working?

I had mistakenly flashed the wrong recovery file to my phone, now it will not reboot to recovery. When I try to reboot to EDL using the button combination, I get the flashing red light then it becomes stationary (always on). So it seems EDL is not working. Is there another way to get to EDL without taking apart my phone? I do not have access to the system as there is no OS on it.

DIY EDL (Deep Flash) Cable

If you are in an emergency (or your patience threshold is very low) and have a thin wire around you, then you can follow this DIY hack video.
I can confirm that this method works on Axon 7 Mini EU version !!! I successfully entered the EDL mode and flashed boot via tuliptool and phone is working again! :) Thank you very much for this video. :good: :good:

I flash the A2017_B14_MIFAVOR5_FULL_EDL.zip, but i cannot start the AXON 2017. after the "ZTE" screen, it shuts down immediately after the MIFAVOR screen appears.
What should I do?

You can try enter recovery or debug mode using the key combos. VolUP+power for recovery and VolDN+power for debug mode. If you can enter recovery, then do a factory reset. Did the flash complete without errors? Did the zip uncompressed without errors?

the phone bootloader is unlocked.
Have you tried with the cable?
Have you tried pressing VolDN+power and introduce the command using and from your computer?

Can you enter fastboot? If you can enter in fastboot mode, then you can flash recovery from there. You can also try with the cable.

Thanks for your reply.
cannot enter recovery. i will try debug mode. the zip is correct and its md5 code is correct. no error during flashing.

Awesome @Oki
I wish I found this sooner ...
I managed to get my Axon 2017G running again after reading a few other posts ...
I used the MiFlash app and flashed the latest Oreo update edl ...I had to change the modem file to my region and its working better than ever ..
One thing I did notice in edl mode the power button seems to open and close the port ?! Please correct me if I'm wrong ...this could be why some phones aren't recognised by the app

Hi @am2006
My phone was in that exact position ...
Here is how I fixed it ...
Download and install MiFlash tool ...
Make sure all Qualcomm drivers are installed and up to date ...
Download the edl package for your device ...you may have to change the modem file in the edl to suit your region ... Mine is an A2017G ...
Turn your phone off ...
Press vol up vol down and power buttons all together for around 10 seconds ...
You will be stuck on a black screen with a red led flashing ...
Open MiFlash ...
Plug your phone into your PC or laptop ...
If MiFlash doesn't detect your phone hit refresh ...
Now hit the browse button and add the folder that the edl package is in .....you may get a script error ...tap OK ...
If all is good hit the flash button ....it will take a few minutes to flash ...
When the flash is complete ...unplug and restart your phone ...
I hope this helps . .

Hi Oki, I've got an Axon7 A2017G with bootloader unlocker. At the moment I have the B32+B10 based EDL Package of yuor thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/guide-axon-7-custom-oreo-roms-newbies-t3786693) installed correctly in my phone. I managed to flash it correctly several times through EDL mode but unfortunately it seems to not work. The first time, I tried to boot on Recovery, but the Smartphone has gone into bootloop. The second time, I boot the phone normally and I reached the Mi Favor... but it has only 4 GB of available spase in the data partition, So I decided to factory reset directly from the ROM and the smartphone has gone another time in Bootloop. Since it was clear that the problem was the recovery, I tried, before loop in the Mi Favor to flash the TWRP with the following guide (https://forum.xda-developers.com/axo...mages-t3599069) . I executed all the steps correctly, trying to install the TWRP 3.2.1-8 by NFound, but when I tried to boot in recovery the phone suddendly power off. I tried to boot normally and I got another time bootloop.
It seems that the EDL do not manages to install corretly the recovery. Could you please help me ?
Thank you !!

Hi @ZoyZoy93
Why did you need to install it several times? ..
If it goes into a bootloop you have a software issue or you have missed a step ...
I would start with some original firmware first and then unlock the bootloaded etc ...
I've flashed the latest Oreo to mine ...its awesome on my A2017G ...I'm now looking at lineage Os 16 (android 9 aka pie)
Good luck

Hi Oki,
I do not miss any steps. I just would like to go back into stock ROM. What do you mean with "I would start with some original firmware first and then unlock the bootloaded etc" ?

Hi zoyzoy93
If you didn't miss a step then you have a software issue ....maybe the bootstack is incorrect ?
Because you are trying to install twrp and several other mods at once there could be a compatibility issue ...not saying there is but could be the reason for the bootloop ..
The original firmware is what ZTE use from the factory or the last update eg: nougat 7.1.1

I did not installed several mods at once. Now I have installed the EDL package suggested by Oki in the other thread, then I just want to go stock. Oki told to follow this guide, but when I try I got bootloop. Since there are no other guide or files to rollback to stock, i try different option in order to identify the problem.
I will try that tool to flash the EDL, thank you.

Hmm, it sounds weird but I think this guide wrecked my Axon 7 now. I may be wrong but here is what happened:

I tried to return to stock from LOS 15.1 with vendor partition. So I removed the vendor partition with @Oki party tool, wiped data, system, cache and dalvik and finally tried to go back to stock with @raystef66 s files. Firstly I flashed the bootstack of B10 for A2017G and rigth after that the corresponding stocksystem. When I rebooted the device, a red warning message appeared saying my device is corrupt. It wouldn't boot to the OS or to recovery, I was just able to access fastboot mode. After switching drivers, the device was recognized as a fastboot device and I could flash TWRP. After that, the devices successfully booted into TWRP again and was recognized as an adb device. From there I was able to boot into EDL mode in which the device was recognized as Qualcomm HSB. I did steps 1 and 3 of this guide and Miflash flashed the files (B12 Nougat files from here) successfully.

After the flash, the device didn't reboot straight away, so I had to reboot it manually. But now, the device shows the ZTE powered by Android logo but after that, it shows a "dead" android with the text "no command" at the bottom. Then the screen stays black and doesn't do a thing. I neither can boot to recovery, nor fastboot mode. I can hit the EDL mode button combination but it's recognized as a DFU device. Interestingly though, when I hit that combination earlier when the device was "corrupt", I got the same message, but I was able to recover the device.

But now, I can't do anything with it. It just stays black. I can reboot it and reboot it to said "EDL Mode" but thats about it.

I'd be thankful for any advice other then disassemble the devices or return it to ZTE.
