You can safely restore modem settings to default by clearing the modem partitions in the bootloader:

This has been proven to bring back diag mode on @xbamaris1` device, so I've added this info to the diag guide.
Anyone tried this command without corrupt IMEI number?

I followed this post and did the step by step without errors. Last thing i remember is to flash the mbm so i did but voltw or vowifi never worked. MetroPCS on T-Mobile but its essentially T-Mobile. Would someone explain to me what i did wrong?

Rooted on android 9 original ww phone. Latest update for android 9 version. Thanks

P. S. When making sure it works step either thru volte enabler or the phone dialer it doesn't show volte or vowifi

Redo it. Sometimes for me it takes a second time for some reason.

So i redid everything with no errors and even did it for second sim. And ran the process 2 times but still nothing. I have MetroPCS by TMobile.

Few other things id like to point out. In the beginning to make sure my set prop is configured correctly i did so. I can never see the volte or vowifi to ever appear.

Im completely lost now if someone could explain to me what the problem is please help me. Thank you

UPDATE!!

Also i just noticed my device is being identified as an Android device/ android composite ADB interface

UPDATE!!!

Corrected the adb issue and now it sees as a Qualcomm USB composite device 902D but still no volte or vowifi

Amazing!!! On T-Mobile and have Zenfone 6 and missed wifi calling and volte. Followed guide and it worked perfectly the first time.
Thank you so much for your hard work and effort. Feel like I have a brand new phone. Was getting extremely irritated without those two features.

With the new firmware voice over Wi-Fi and voice over LTE are on by default but still not connecting to T-Mobile's Network how would I go about doing that now?

---------- Post added at 01:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:25 PM ----------

Couldn't someone make a magisk module for this?

Followed the steps with no errors but even pushing the Telus mbn (also tried Vivo) doesn't give me volte for Koodo (subsidiary of Telus). I guess I need a real Koodo mbn (maybe from the Pixel 4). I wonder how these are extracted.
Hi,

My ROG Phone 2 will be arriving on Monday, so I'm getting up to speed on how to enable VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling, as the lack of those was the only thing preventing me from pulling the trigger on the purchase. The mbn files are found in the vendor partition of the respective device. I used @SuperR.'s Kitchen to extract the latest Pixel 4 XL Factory Image (April 2020) as I would like to have the current T-Mobile USA mbn file to use (and it looks like there's some stuff related to Carrier Aggregation in there too, so I'm excited to see if that makes a difference). Since I saw your post and already have the vendor image extracted, I figured I could grab the Koodo mbn for you. In the Pixel 4 XL (Coral) firmware, the full path is
Code:
vendor/rfs/msm/mpss/readonly/vendor/mbn/mcfg_sw/generic/Pixel/NA/Telus/Koodo/pixel_CA
so if anyone else wants to try extracting them, they know where to find them.

TWP

EDIT: I just noticed that there's a file with an index of the included mbn files.
Code:
vendor/rfs/msm/mpss/readonly/vendor/mbn/mcfg_sw/mbn_sw.txt
Contents of the file are pasted below:
Code:

EDIT: nevermind, found it online. Thanks! I attached the pixel 4 mbn for tmo US. my RCS still does not function.

I think TMO is up to something. I used Linage for a few days, came back to stock, now RCS is broke. I am on TMO too.

Hi,

Do you have the latest version of Carrier Services installed? I noticed Chat features were disabled for me until I updated it, and then when I went into Messages, it asked me if I wanted to enable Chat.

Yeah that was one of the first things I checked.

It was working fine on A9 and on most of the beta builds but it stopped working after I did this I believe.

Hi,

So I have this working on LOS for the most part, but I just noticed that if I toggle Airplane mode, I lose my IMS Registration. I have to reboot to get it back. Is there any way to make it re-register itself if it gets unregistered somehow? That would make it truly persistent. If anyone has any idea on how to do that, it would be great.

TWP

EDIT: Of course as soon as I post this, it reconnects without me rebooting. It did seem to take a while to finally register, but as long as it does, I think it's good enough. Thanks again for this mod!

I am not a techy cell phone/computer guy so this process took me about 8 hours to complete (I had to start from scratch and unlock bootloader, correctly flash TWRP, root, get diag working, then run final commands to enable volte and wifi calling) but this is awesome. You guys rock for taking the time to crack this stuff. Just seeing the volte/wifi calling icon on the top of my screen makes it worth the hassle (self imposed). One thing that took me FOREVER to figure out was the version of recovery I was trying to boot were for Android 9 and my ROG phone 2 is on Android 10. I happened to stumble on a video of a guy saying to pick the Q version for Android 10 and it worked immediately. Hopefully that saves someone about 4 hours of time. :)

I am not sure what happened. This was working fine for me for some time but then all of a sudden stopped working on my primary sim slot. My 2nd slot works fine with VolTE but my primary won't find Volte or Wifi calling no matter what I do. FLash Mi9 MBn, flash pixel mbn, toggle everything, Still nothing.

Anybody have a similar experience to mine that have resolved?

Have tmo as primary. Google fi as 2nd sim

EDIT:

Well I'm not quite sure what happened guys.
I figured let me try to switch the sim slots and see if they work..... and now Nothing works. I have no service on any sim. Wifi works but Mobile service is a no go. I will try to troubleshoot

I did a factory reset and nothing happened. My tmo sim says "SIm 1 not allowed" when I I insert it. It works fine on other devices.

I flashed the .64 android 9 raw file. Same thing

Updating back to current android 10. Will root and do this process again hopefully will have service. If not need to look into warranty or tossing device.

I can't for the life of mine get any service on this device. Factory reset, flashed raw, tried to mess around with different MBN's. Think it might be time to look into something else

WiFi calling available with new update WW-17.0230.2002.32
Settings->Network and internet -> Mobile network-> wifi calling
Hey! Unfortunately, that doesn't work for all carriers (at least didn't show up for me after the update).

BUT, on the other hand, I can confirm this is working on latest update. (Albeit, thought it didn't right after reboot - but after disconnecting first test call (it dropped down to 3g/H+), it has finally shown me the volte icon, and wifi calling also now works :)

Work on Verizon?

Sorry for the repeat questions. But, I want to be absolutely clear this will work on Verizon before I buy the phone.

Will this work on Verizon? If so, do i need to do anything besides the original guide? Will i have to call Verizon?

Other questions:

Is there any possibility that Asus will actually get this fixed?

Is this phone worth it? Or, should I wait for the ROG 3 or maybe another phone?

I haven't ever done anything like a phone root or anything similar. How difficult is it and are there any risks?

I'm sure I will have more questions. Thank you all for the help and advice!

US TMO Functioning Correctly

This is just an update post from the DIAG page:

"So I successfully unlocked the bootloader on my Zenfone 6 via Asus's official unlocking software, and then used mauronofrio's All in one tool to flash/root the device. I then downloaded and installed the Qualcomm drivers and QPST from your guide, and installed ASUSVoLTE v1.0.1 on my device. When I connect my device, it shows up in Device Manager as "ASUS Android ADB Interface". When I open the VoLTE app and click "Enable DIAG", it just sais "ASUS VoLTE was given superuser rights" and nothing happens. I tried restarting the device twice with no success. Then I got into the root shell and typed in "setprop sys.usb.diag 2" but after I hit enter, nothing happened. "

*UPDATE*
I successfully got the remote method to work by running ipconfig in cmd and using the ip address found there rather than the one provided by QPST. Followed the provided steps and voLTE/voWIFI works perfectly! Thanks!

Just wanted to give an update. Finally got it to work. I redid the steps about 4 times without error then let my phone sit for 30 min then restarted it and got both vowifi and volte finally on my 12g/512g dog phone 2 on MetroPCS on T-Mobile. Also I want to say I did enable sms over WiFi from the sms settings during one of the attempts maybe that helped but IDK. Big thanks to homersp and everyone here :)
